Manufacturing Expeditor/Shipping
The Manufacturing Expeditor has a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and products through the manufacturing process. Reporting directly to the company President, this role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, high energy, and a keen eye for detail to maintain production schedules and drive on-time delivery of critical components.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Flow Management:
- Collaborate with supervisors to review work orders, plan, and prioritize production schedules.
- Monitor and verify material inventory levels and manage ordering.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of materials within the manufacturing facility.
Production Coordination:
- Work closely with production teams to expedite the movement of materials and components throughout the production process.
- Identify and resolve any potential delays or bottlenecks in production.
- Provide priorities to Quality.
Communication and Reporting:
- Maintain clear and regular communication with various departments, including shop, ops, sales and engineering.
- Generate reports on production progress, material status, and potential delays.
- Generate routers, scan paperwork and bird-dog their progress.
- Maintain documentation within ERP.
· Collaborate with the Dir of Operations to provide updates and recommendations.
· Create daily metrics, track machine performance, report on unplanned downtime.
· Lead the tracking and movement of priority orders.
· Attend regular meetings and provide feedback.
Vendor Management
- Issue POs.
- Expedite orders.
- Follow-up with vendors.
- Receiving
Problem Solving:
· Identify and address any production issues or deviations from plan.
· Develop and implement solutions to keep production on track.
· Communicate with departments to ensure that materials, components, tools, and paperwork are supplied accurately & efficiently.
· Maintain inventories, cycle counting, or customer stocking programs.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Shipping:
· Pull finished goods.
· Complete certification packets
· Complete packing slips
· Pack and ship.
· Customer delivery notification.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing expediting or a similar role within a precision manufacturing environment.
· Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
· Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
· Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50lbs, use stairs, work in a moderately noisy environment.
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity necessary to perform the duties of the job.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines.
