Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 100 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

Who we are:
Archer's Powertrain Engineering group is looking for a highly motivated student to support the Manufacturing Engineering Team. Role is focused on supporting the Electric Engine program (Rotor, Stator, Inverter, Gearbox Assembly, Power Electronics, Final Assembly) programs. As an Co-op Intern at Archer, you will find yourself immersed into the most innovative culture that is pushing boundaries. This role will be based at Archer's headquarters in San Jose, California and relocation or housing will not be provided.
What you'll do:

  • Assist manufacturing engineers on Design for Manufacturing efforts with product team
  • Assist Team on manufacturing equipment design, procurement, setup & maintenance
  • Assist team on training/SWI documentation for assembly and installation.
  • Have knowledge of 3D Printing & Developing fixtures in-house.
  • Assist in building systems for quick test & development of new features or bug fixes.
  • Control circuit wiring and troubleshooting.
  • Build HMI screens and standards for machines, cells, and factories.
  • Use best practices when programming machine software with a focus on providing data to the SCADA system that allows for robust metric logging, tracing, and alerting.

What you need:
  • Rising senior in Undergraduate Program or Masters student at accredited college or university in an engineering or science discipline
  • Knowledge of Fundamentals of Physics, Mathematics
  • Functional user of NX 2D/3D
  • Experience with GD&T
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following development languages:
    • TwinCAT3, Studio 5000, Ignition, SIMATIC STEP 7, iQ Works, CX-One.
  • Working knowledge of Git, Python, and SQL.
  • Ability to learn and adapt within an ambiguous environment
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Eager to learn, positive attitude, and highly motivated

Bonus Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Google suite application
  • Knowledge of Atlassian Suite (JIRA/Confluence)
  • High voltage training or previous experience.
  • Familiarity with small passenger aircraft or helicopters

Additional Details:
  • Program duration will be approximately 6-12 Months starting March 2024
  • Must be able to work a full time schedule (approximately 40 hours per week) at our office location

Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
