Position Overview
The purpose of this position is to provide support to keep electrical control systems operational throughout the facility, also provide process implementation and improvement for the controls and instrumentation.
Essential Job Functions
- Support to keep electrical controls operational throughout the production facility. Understanding of 3 phases 480-volt power to 24-volt DC.
- Able to use diagnostic equipment (laptop, meter, oscilloscope, VFD pendent, etc.).
- Knowledge to read schematics to install new equipment and troubleshoot. Able to wire machines to the motor control center. Able to install and set up variable frequency drives.
- Understanding of I/O cards and communication layout for PLC system.
- Support engineering projects and new plant design.
- Troubleshoot and keep systems running.
- Startup and commissioning activities, including developing and implementing best practices for process controls and instrumentation.
- Keep your work area neat, clean, and free of debris Able to work independently or as a team player to complete projects Communicate with other employees and management respectfully to prioritize and complete work tasks.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime hours during evenings or weekends when production is down to accomplish necessary task completion May be required to support other mechanical and engineering teams/departments which may require cross-training.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment through a 5S program.
- Ability to work independently or in a team.
Other Job Functions:
- Perform other duties as assigned by the management.
- Able to work planned and unplanned hours in support of a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 5 years of Electrical Engineering/Controls experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Technical Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology preferred.
- 3-Phase systems motor control.
- VFD experience required PLC software.
- User, a plus (using primarily Allen Bradley products. Specifically, MicroLogix, Compact Logix, ControlLogix, and SLC500) Experience with PLC, HMI, Modicon, Wonderware, Alen Bradley Controls Experience Preferred Instrumentation and Controls experience in an industrial plant or process manufacturing setting.
- Working knowledge of electrical schematics, electrical distribution, and communication networks, wiring diagrams, panel outlets.
- Knowledge of basic electricity and electrical circuits required.
- Ability to work in a production facility manufacturing.
- Must be able to comprehend verbal and written instructions, policies, and procedures in English.
- Must be able to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices,
- Maintain a safety-first mentality to work in the factory.
- Must be able to adhere to attendance policies.
- The factory can be loud, dusty, and in a high-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour
