Job Description
CET is looking for a knowledgeable and self-driven Manufacturing and Automation Engineer, with hands-on experience in the design, implementation, and operation of robotic systems. This role requires independent and collaborative work, innovative thought, project management, and clear communication. CET is a leader in carbon fiber and composite solutions, and this role will require familiarity with composite design and fabrication. This candidate will develop and lead a new Robotics/Automated Manufacturing Department.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Work with company leadership to implement and install new automated robotic equipment for composite manufacturing.
- System Design/Procurement
- Programming/Configuration
- FAT/SAT/Commissioning
- Lead your own Research and Development projects: developing project timelines, goals, prototypes, and testing, to advance automated manufacturing processes within the company.
- Develop innovative manufacturing solutions for both existing and new composite assemblies.
- Design, program, simulate and test automated processes and machinery
- Integrate automation training for new systems with technicians
- Review and support equipment safety risk assessments
- Work with a team of composite designers, engineers, and technicians to fabricate composite structures, mechanical assemblies, and integration of undersea technologies.
- Manage existing additive manufacturing technologies
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM area and at least two years of experience in Manufacturing/Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related area
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Undersea Systems and technologies
- A strong understanding for composite materials, properties, and material testing
- Experience with Control Systems, configurations, and support
- Experience in a manufacturing setting
- Experience implementing automation solutions in a manufacturing environment, including experience programming Robotic and Additive Manufacturing systems
- Must have fluency in MS Office software applications
- 3D Solid Modeling experience using a CAD software: Rhino, Solidworks
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software
Position Type & Expected Work Hours
This is a full-time hourly position, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30p.m. This position may require longer hours and weekend work.
