Manual Machinist 1

Madden Industrial is seeking a Manual Machinist 1 to join our clients team in Portland, OR. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining parts in a job shop environment and will succeed with a background that includes manual lathes, mills, horizontal boring lathes, CNC mills and lathes. Machinist 1 Pay: $31.77 - $33.76/hr DOE

Machinist Shift: Day

Machinist Responsibilities:

• Machine parts using manual and CNC mills and lathes and horizontal boring lathe at a Journeyman level
• Perform routine maintenance of machines
• Ability to establish own speeds, feeds, depths of cut and adjust accordingly
• Independently inspect parts to print using shop measuring tools
• Operate overhead cranes and utilize rigging systems

Machinist Qualifications:

• 18+ years or older
• High school graduate or GED
• 5+ years' experience in a job shop environment
• Advanced understanding of GD&T and how to apply it
• Ability to take critical measurements and reverse engineer parts from sample
• Journeyman knowledge and experience with speeds and feeds, tools and insert identification
• Work with minimal directions or supervision
• Ability to lift or carry up to 60 pounds and work indoor and outdoors
