MANAGER/HEAD COOK - CRESTWOOD HIGH SCHOOL
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To maintain schools and other facilities to the extent that students and employees can work in a healthy and safe environment.
To work collaboratively with department and building administration.
To foster an inclusive work environment maintaining high morale.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
Excellent attendance record.
Must have prior Kitchen Management experience within schools
Current ServSafe certification or equivalent
Must understand HACCP procedures
Must demonstrate excellent proficiency in large quantity food preparation and directing kitchen staff
Must be able to direct and work with food staff using positive communication and a team approach philosophy
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the production and shipment of all food items to the satellite facilities and Crestwood High School. Also, provide food as needed to Riverside Middle School.
Responsible for all catering and food service related functions.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining quality food standards.
Responsible for the direction of kitchen staff and food service drivers at Crestwood High School.
Responsible for daily production records for the satellite facilities and Crestwood High School.
Responsible for the ordering and inventory of all food, supplies and small wares needed for the service of meals.
Responsible for ensuring all food safety requirements and HACCP procedures are followed in the production, transportation and service of food to the students and staff of the district.
Responsible for checking that all kitchen equipment is in safe and in good working condition and notifies the appropriate authority when repairs are needed.
Ensures that all USDA guidelines are being complied with by following the written menu established by the food service director.
Responsible for ensuring all students and staff are treated with respect.
Must participate in required training and meetings.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Food Service Supervisor.

Performs occasional lifting and carrying objects up to fifty (50) pounds.

The employee is occasionally required to sit.
The employee frequently must squat, stop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward.

The employee may frequently lift, push/pull and/or move such items as food trays or mobile food carts, cleaning supplies, pails, trash receptacles.

SALARY: Commensurate with Food Service Contract Salary Schedule
