. The Benefits Manager will be responsible for day to day oversight of US employee benefits programs for embecta. This includes ongoing development and implementation of a comprehensive benefits package that meets the needs of the business and our employees. The Benefits Manager will monitor the various plans and policies to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company objectives, and stay informed of industry changes and new developments to help the business keep up with best practice standards. This role reports to the Senior Director of Global Benefits.
Responsibilities
- Develop and administer the US employee benefits package, including health, life, disability, and retirement plans.
- Manage communication efforts and tools for employees to be well informed of their benefit options.
- Provide employees with resources to support related inquiries and maintain communication with brokers and vendors to problem-solve issues.
- Responsible for audits on welfare, retirement plans, Section 125, and non-qualified plans.
- Manage third-party leave vendor for the US and provide support for escalated issues.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with laws and regulations related to benefits, including ERISA, ACA, FMLA, and HIPAA.
- Establish and maintain relationships with broker, external vendors and providers, and ensure procedures are followed to minimize costs.
- Provide guidance regarding benefits enrollment and utilization.
- Manage day-to-day benefits administration, including billing, enrollment, and various audits.
- Monitor employee eligibility for benefits in accordance with company guidelines.
- Report benefits-related data and trends to senior leadership.
- Lead the annual US renewal and open enrollment, process communication and education.
- Manage existing wellness programs, analyze effectiveness of programs, and research and recommend new initiatives.
- Special projects as needed.
Requirements and skills
- 5+ years of related experience; must have experience with self-insured medical plans.
- Knowledge of all US federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee benefits, leaves of absence and accommodations.
- Highest level of personal and professional integrity.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong vendor management and customer service skills.
- Ability to work and build partnerships across departments.
- Strong business and financial acumen to identify and implement cost-effective programs.
