Manager Site Operations Him

The MMC HIM department is located in Tarrytown but maintains specific units of operation at each site of MMC to serve the needs of a diverse clientele who require assistance regarding patient health information.  This position is accountable for managing the day to day operations at the Moses site which operates 7days a week 24 hours a day.  This position must ensure that the site operates in a manner that meets the needs of patients, physicians and other hospital specific activities related to inquiries regarding access to medical records,  death certificate completion, release of remains of deceased to funeral directors or OCME, emergency processing of requests for patient information, medical record completion and assistance with surveys and other regulatory activity.  
Manager must be knowledgeable in overall departmental operations, regulatory and accrediting standards and Montefiore administrative policies.  The manager must ensure coverage, identify and prioritize problems and provide solutions to ensure customer satisfaction. Manager must provide feedback to the functional units at the main site and obtain specific direction and updates to ensure alignment with the goals of the department.   

Education/Knowledge:

Associates degree required.

Certification preferred - RHIA, RHIT.

Working in an off site environment requires over all knowledge of the department processes.  Ability to use good judgment in differentiating between when to escalate issues and when to hold requires an individual with sound knowledge of department functions, good communication skills to handle problems and good judgment to take necessary and corrective action.

Knowledge of regulatory agencies such as HIPAA, CMS and TJC are required. 
3 or more years experience in a complex health care environment. Knowledge/experience in medical record operations required. 
Management experience required.
Project Management experience required .
Excellent communication, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Knowledge of  office applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and data management.
Experience with electronic medical records a plus
