This is a Full Time position working a combination of 1st and 2nd shift. Weekend availability is also required.

Job Description:
The Spa Manager will be responsible for all aspects of a hotel wellness and spa for the JW Marriott Grand Rapids and some responsibilities at the Amway Grand Plaza. Responsibilities ranging from budgeting, financial, service level performance, service programs, and day-to-day operations. The Spa manager will also be responsible for training, supervising, retaining and motivating a group of qualified team of professionals by achieving sales goals, business objectives and spa profitability. The Spa Manager will directly be responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction and spa operations at a luxury level hotel environment.
Ideal Candidate:
- Three years’ previous spa management experience
- Technical spa experience or background preferred
- Luxury Marriott Brand training preferred
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle pressure well, self-motivated, adaptable to change and very detail oriented.
- Must have strong financial acumen and advanced analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as advanced computer knowledge.
- Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the Spa operational budget for the JW Marriott Grand Rapids
- Establish and enforce internal costs and labor control.
- Manages supply inventories and purchasing control, including uniforms.
- Assist in revenue enhancement programs.
- Oversees retail product research, product selection and purchasing, product display.
- Implement spa related marketing strategies, collateral and promotional activities in conjunction with the hotel’s Marketing team.
- Be up to date with current salon and spa trends.
- Drive spa group sales and manage bookings by working with the sales and events teams and local convention bureau.
- Responsible for analyzing financial budgeting, forecasting, yield management.
- Manage personnel under own supervision including hiring, guiding, directing, developing, training counseling, discipline and evaluations.
- Oversee the compliance of state laws regarding, pool and fitness standards, spa health standards, insurance requirements and provider license and renewal.
- Assist in the development and motivation of the spa team: ensure established service levels are consistently achieved in compliance with Hotel standards, Marriott Quality Assurance and Marriott Brand Standards.
- As a hotel department manager working with multiple hotels work with other hotel departments to build a strong relationship to create a seamless guest experience.
- Responsible for attending and holding numerous, hotel wide meetings and communicating relevant information to spa staff.
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
- Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa.
