We have an opportunity for a Full-time Retail & Office Leader at our Roscoe location experienced in the Retail, Hospitality or Veterinary industries, to join our growing company.

Job Description


At Meyer’s, we’re on a crusade to help owners improve the relationship between them and their dogs and be the HERO in their lives and we're the lifeguards. We are YODA and the pet owner is LUKE SKYWALKER. We exist for the pets & the owners who are not only visit Canine Colony but in the community. We're doing work that matters.


Meyer’s is 3rd generation dog professionals. Kent & Gwen Meyer have led Meyer’s since their mid-twenties when they weren’t believable. They now have been teaching “dog speak” for over 25 years and have woven dog behavior into every aspect of services at Meyer’s. That will never change. What WILL change—and HAS to change—is HOW we do things. We’re changing every day so we can INSPIRE more & more people with their dogs . . . and our Team of 45+ is changing and growing fast. We need help.


This person is often the first point of contact for new and existing customers requesting to make a reservation or requesting more information about our place, as such this is one of the most important roles at Meyer’s. You are joining a team that strives to take customers all the way to “Wow!”. Meyer’s has a strong sense of community with many staff being part of the team for over 10 years building, innovating, and being part of something bigger than themselves. The ideal candidate is seeking a long term seat, is responsible, punctual and dependable. This position requires a dedicated level of professionalism and being comfortable speaking with customers in person, on the phone, computers, handling of dogs, retail management and responding to all customer needs.


Job Duties & Responsibilities


  • Handle busy phones and provide accurate information to clients
  • Humanely and gently handle animals at all times
  • Computer literate with ability to use in-house software, e-mail, Word and Excel spreadsheets in a professional setting
  • Book reservations and appointments, charge & billing of all clients
  • Handle daily cash reports
  • Communicate with vendors and veterinary offices
  • Communicate and connect company mission and values to daily operations
  • Keep office and affairs organized and maintain a comprehensive filing system
  • Schedules, organizes, and updates complex activities such as transportation, appointments and depot site arrangements
  • Leads a team, builds relationships and manages a variety of small special projects
  • Communicate with stakeholders, prospective clients, etc. to arrange meetings, prepare agendas, and draft minutes
  • Help manage output, workflow, and deadlines
  • Lead pricing of inventory and maintain all inventory
  • Attend markets with the owners as a buyer and assist in merchandise selection
  • Lead the organizing, planning and execution of all outside events the team participates in
  • Lead the visual team and partner with members of management to maintain the highest visual standards with turning the showrooms on a schedule

Requirements


  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic with a “make-it-happen” attitude.
  • Good presentation and salesmanship skills
  • Passionate about working with a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships clients, staff, external partners and vendors
  • Demonstrate positive attitude towards pets, co-workers, and customers.
  • Ability to problem-solve and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications


  • Associate Degree or higher is preferred
  • Previous experience in a pet facility or pet care environment a plus
  • Excellent work history and references
  • Available Saturdays
