Job Summary:
Manages research administration for a UT System wide trauma research and combat casualty collaborative (TRC4) and is responsible for grant operations, financial planning, and Pre-and Post-Award management activities.
Job Duties:
1. Provides professional expertise in the complex areas of sponsored research contracts and agreements, subcontracts, clinical trial agreements, and material transfer agreements.
2. Manages staff to include interviewing, selecting, and training of employees; setting and adjusting pay rates and hours of work; planning/directing work; appraising productivity/efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status.
3. Handles staff complaints/grievances and disciplines when necessary.
4. Oversees the financial operations of multiple awards, to include allocation of funds, expenditure approval and supply management.
5. Develops and recommends cost control, planning, scheduling, and procedural changes.
6. Serves as the technical expert for equipment and safety compliance.
7. Directs managers and staff on safety protocols, equipment utilization and lab safety protocols.
8. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred.
Experience:
Seven (7) years experience in research or related administration is required, or five (5) years experience with a Master's degree is preferred.
Supervisory Requirements:
- Has the authority to direct the work of others, hire or fire employees, or provide recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other employee.
