Manager, Quality Control

SUMMARY: The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the verification of product conformance to design requirements and providing objective evidence of results. This includes responsibility for performing audits, surveillance, and monitoring related to received material, and identifying and documenting discrepancies that require segregation and control due to nonconformance. This role is responsible for leading a team of Quality Control Inspectors that performances all preliminary review and disposition of non-conformance, product review and acceptance, and process verification. Direct oversight will include Quality Control of all incoming parts/material, understanding special requests/orders, and team's safe execution using micrometers, gauge controls, calipers, indicators, etc. This role also supports the internal quality team and senior leaders in QMS maintenance and execution. Additional responsibilities will be to drive a culture of continuous improvement through all supplier and team communications and interactions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Leads inspection team with oversight and thorough understanding of inspection and documentation needs, First Article requirements, inspections per design record and documented AQL, and all requirements for visual inspections.
• Works directly with leaders in engineering, supply chain, and product line teams to understand material requirements for new product and supplier requirements.
• Reviews and reports on team efficiency metrics, trends, and activities to improve cost, quality, and customer satisfaction, and suggest areas that can be optimized or improved.
• Identify and communicate opportunities to increase inspector productivity and assist with RCCA activities.
• Ensures processes are properly executed, with a quality culture of root cause analysis and supplier corrective action to prevent future escapes and continuously improve customer satisfaction.

• Has a deep understanding of ERP functions, supplier, and department processes, and ensures the interaction of all functional processes is continuously optimized for executional excellence.
• Collaborates with Supplier Quality Engineer to monitors SCAR list weekly and effectively communicate problem statement and team data for timely execution on aging SCAR RAIL, including all pertinent information (purchase orders, PART numbers, quantities, etc.)
• Assist direct leader in coordinating updates to policies and practices, and ensures they are flowed down to each supplier by collaboration with the SQE, and to other functions as needed.
• Works closely with quality leaders and other functional leaders to ensure customer, supplier, and company requirements are met or exceeded.
• Participates in and assists in coordinating internal, and third-party audits as needed.
• Works with the Safety and Operations leaders, as required, to adhere to safety in the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree
• 7 years of relevant/technical work experience and 4-7 years of leadership experience
• OR
• An additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.

• Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Risk Management, quality, or quality auditor certifications
• 7 years of aviation related quality experience
• 5 years of experience with AS9100, ISO 9001:2015, ASA-100, and FAA 0056B
• Ability to self-manage, set priorities, and demonstrate follow-through.

  • Master's degree
  • 10+ years relevant work experience
  • Formal Quality and/or Process Improvement certification from accredited institution. LSS, etc.
  • Knowledge of Quantum Control Software

  • The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
  • The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R.
    120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
