JOB SUMMARY

The Manager Quality is responsible for interfacing with engineering, customers, and Supply Chain or suppliers, on quality related issues. They ensure the management of the company's quality, process and/or business improvement efforts within a defined segment of the organization. This role typically has a staff of quality engineers, quality administration and inspectors reporting directly to him/her. In addition, they are responsible for managing all quality assurance personnel within division.

  • Develop vision, strategy, and objectives for quality.
  • Direct and manage the daily/weekly tasks and projects for Quality team
  • Lead process and continuous improvement in all quality operational aspects
  • Identify contractual requirements and risks for exposure, and aid to implement mitigation plans.
  • Ensure the quality management system complies with FAA and EASA regulatory guidelines, AS9100 industry, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure that division is properly prepared for internal, customer, and/or third-party audits and ensures audits are properly managed.
  • Monitor departmental status in deliverables to the companies gated process and program milestones regarding quality
  • Set up and improve robust processes in operations
  • Assist various departments with problem solving tools and be a problem-solving champion.
  • Manage and oversee the company's corrective and preventive action processes and their effectiveness.
  • Identify and understand customer requirements.
  • Oversee the company's internal and external nonconformance system.
  • Administer monitoring, reporting and output actions of key performance indicators (KPIs) to constantly improve performance.
  • Interface with supply chain department on supplier-related issues.
  • Maintain good customer communication and relationships; strive to meet or exceed customer satisfaction expectations.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field is required

Experience:

  • 8+ years’ quality experience working in a high-volume manufacturing facility
  • 5+ years of experience working in both EASA and FAA regulations associated with the Aerospace industry

Skills:

  • Detailed knowledge of regulations and AS9100 standards associated with quality assurance for the aerospace industry
  • Ability to create, define, and document quality assurance processes and procedures
  • Technical writing ability

Other:

  • May be asked to work extended or irregular hours as required.
  • This position requires up to approximately 25% travel, including travel which is outside the local area and overnight.

  • Trained and experienced in auditing in Aerospace
  • Application of QMS tools and techniques (APQP, FMEA, Inspection planning/ SPC)

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSE

  • ASQ Quality Manager and Quality Engineering certification desired.

SUPERVISION PROVIDED TO THE POSITION

  • Direction with necessary guidance is provided in terms of tasks and craftsmanship and measured based upon how well tasks have been completed. Receives detailed instructions as needed.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY

  • Manages team for adherence to organizational goals, operating policies, and budgetary guidelines.
  • Manages team performance and is responsible for training and coaching.

PROBLEM SOLVING

  • Develop and provide solutions to complex problems based on established precedents and are consistent with organization objectives.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Salary Range Transparency: $110,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on candidate qualifications
