Job description

The South Texas Project Electric Generating Station is one of the newest and largest nuclear power facilities in the nation. SUMMARY
Responsible for managing and implementing programs and initiatives that improve organizational performance. This individual will work closely with various departments and teams to assess current performance, identify performance gaps, and develop strategies that align with the station's vision and mission.
EDUCATION
• Bachelor's degree in organizational development, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. (Preferred)
EXPERIENCE
• 10 Years + professional experience in Operations, Maintenance or Engineering of which 5 years must be operating nuclear power plant/industry experience. A minimum of three of the 10 years shall be in a supervisory or management position. (Required)
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
• None required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Implement the Integrated Performance Improvement (PI) Program including the Corrective Action (CAP), Operating Experience (OE), Trending, Station Self-Assessment and Human Performance (HU) programs to identify and correct gaps to industry excellence.
• Develop and implement the stations' independent assessment function including the performance assessment of key departments, Nuclear Safety Culture (NSC), Continuous Improvement and Improving Plant Reliability values and behaviors.
• Oversee the interface between the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) and the station to include the station's INPO Administrative Point of Contact (APOC), Industry Reporting and Information System (IRIS) reporting, INPO Leadership training, and monthly INPO and Performance Continuum data submittals.
• Manage the interface between the station and the Executive Oversight Board (EOB).
• Oversee the development and status of the station's excellence plan .
• Serve as the Leadership Training Advisory Committee (TAC) chairperson.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accept ERO position as needed.
• Accept outage position as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
• Perform personnel activities for direct reports (promotions, salary changes, counseling, performance appraisals, development plans).
• Manage organization and related activities.
• Develop, implement, and manage the business plan, budget, goals, training requirements and performance measures for responsible organization.
• Coordinate and chair meetings with departments, management, and executive personnel.

• Capable of functioning with minimum guidance and direction in fulfilling assigned tasks and objectives in areas where precedents are not clearly established.
• High degree of initiative
• Ability to accept responsibility for the organization's activities and outcomes.
• Knowledge of Company processes and procedures
• Firm understanding of STP Goals and long-term plans.
• Superior communications skills. Ability to represent the Company in a professional manner.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to perform statistical and trend analyses of plant data.
• Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner (oral and written).
• Ability to encourage and sustain high performance of employees and provide appropriate development opportunities.
