The Manager of Operational Merchandising – Assortment Execution serves as supporting the implementation of merchandising initiatives and assisting with the development of standard best practices with a focus on Assortment Execution designed to drive market share growth.
The Assortment Execution team will work closely with Merchandising colleagues at Corporate, Market, and Region levels. They will also collaborate with colleagues from other functional teams or external partners to develop and standardize the tools, processes, and solutions aligned with the key operating initiatives.
The team will execute full end to end activities for common assortment including deployment planning and engagement, supplier & item readiness, and ongoing product performance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support and drive standardization of key processes for our assortment initiatives.
Manage merchandising common assortment activities to create market share growth including:
Assortment discovery
Supply Chain efficiencies
Supplier readiness
Stocking Strategies
Operational Efficiencies
Inventory positioning
Demand Planning
Drive process for effective management of assortment changes
Items adds/deletions and associated maintenance
Network inventory positioning
Continuous communication loop back to GSC teams on assortment performance from field teams.
Collaborate cross functionally on Sales & Operations Planning including inbound supply chain organization and demand planning teams.
Support process to provide Service Level communication as necessary
Product availability
Operational concerns (weather, etc.)
Support new and existing customers to include but not limited to:
Sales & operations planning
Item and supplier changes such as
New item Set Up, Maintenance and Acquisition
New Supplier Set up, Maintenance and Acquisition
Margin Management
Assortment Management
Collaborate with all center-led and field teams, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, Business Technology, Finance, HR and other teams to develop field-ready tools, policies, routines, procedures, playbooks, training, and other capabilities required
Support the development of overall processes to ensure standardization and compliance across all tools, resources, technology
Work cross-functionally as an enabler of center strategy, field execution, and other functions
Balance field input and creativity with the need for sustainable business process
Contribute to the achievement of financial and non-financial goals and objectives set forth by leadership
Creates and fosters high-performance culture, focused on engagement, accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement with a customer focus.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree sufficient to successfully perform essential job functions required.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Merchandising expertise in the operational/field setting.
5+ years management/professional experience required. Significant category management, merchandising and/or operations experience within a retail, wholesale or distribution environment preferred
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Multi-functional field experience including field merchandising and supply chain inventory management experience
