THE ROLE

In this role, Steel Sports will provide opportunities to have extensive experience working with youth by providing basic sports strategies, and good communication skills. This role will ensure all youth team members enjoy an engaging and uplifting sporting experience. These positions will report to a Senior leader within the region and will have direct interaction with personnel at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Financial
    • Work with VP and SVP of Experience to plan, implement, and approve Steel Sports budgets during the budget planning process.
    • Monitor and then execute the financial budgets of each Experience Event.
    • Participate in monthly MOR calls with senior leadership team.
    • Oversee team registration and fee collection of Tournaments and Events
  • Sales Prospecting and Customer Relations
    • Market research to identify center-of-influence customers in targeted regions
    • Create dynamic sales plans for Events and regions designed to reach performance targets
    • Coordinate effective usage of our standardized marketing assets
    • List all events on GotSport and Steel Sports website in a timely manner
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external team contacts
    • Serve as point of contact for event customer inquiries and requests
    • Post-Event follow-up to collect customer input for the debrief process
  • Event Planning and Coordination
    • Market research to evaluate event potential in targeted regions
    • Leverage customer knowledge to develop innovative event and programming product
    • Coordination of event logistics and onsite branding
    • Facilitate or assist in the full execution of select events
    • Use GotSport for all scheduling of events
  • Assistant Experience Director and Coaches
    • Oversee any Assistant Experience Directors.
    • Work with Experience Product Director team to help maintain positive on and off-field results within their events.
    • Attend an annual summit with all the Regional Teams Directors.
    • Liaise with VP and SVP either in person or remotely, to discuss agenda topics provided in advance.
    • Plan and execute annual performance reviews with Assistant Experience Directors, if necessary.
    • Work with the Teams Regional Product Directors and Steel Coaches to develop strong working relationships and to gather market knowledge from our coaches and families to better Steel Sports' events.
  • Business Development
    • Work alongside SVP, Experience, and Brand and Communication Office to plan, implement, and execute all sales, marketing, and advertising campaigns for the events.
    • Devise new methods to market the Events and to reach new potential clubs.
    • Devise, implement, and execute plans to grow the current Events and reach new clubs within our current geography.
    • Identify clubs, directors, and coaches that are a cultural fit with Steel Sports
    • Work alongside the Social Impact Office to create new ideas and methods to integrate the Steel Sports mission, vision, and core values into everyday local Steel Sports.
    • Represent Steel Sports locally at appropriate conferences and summits to highlight and grow Steel Sports in your local area.
    • Follow the Social Impact Office's recommended social impact plan for the local area.
    • Develop a strategic short, medium, and long-term plan for your Steel Sports events.
    • Communicate specific Events and details directly to all families.
    • Work with the Brand and Communication office to plan, implement, and maintain the events website.
  • Partnerships/Sponsorships
    • Work with Steel Sports partners to execute partnership activations currently in place.
    • Assist with finding any local partnership/sponsorship from each club.
    • Work with VP and SVP, Experience to identify potential partners and/or sponsors.
  • Logistics
    • Establish best practices across all events in the club
    • Evaluate each Event on a seasonal basis to determine club best practices and make sure they adhere to the national best practices.
    • Utilize the universal operational materials specifically for the Experience products, including but not limited to financial templates, marketing templates, social media templates, club language, waivers.
    • Oversee equipment needs for the Events and work with the Regional Operations Manager for ordering.
    • Traveling to and from to work events, etc.
    • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Recreation, Health & Science or related fields
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience working in events.
  • Prior knowledge of GotSport preferred.
  • Be responsible, flexible, hard-working, ethical, and committed to the mission of Steel Sports.
  • Successfully complete the application procedure.
  • Understanding of and ability to apply principles of quality youth development and programming.
  • Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.
  • Active engagement with and supervision of children requiring physical stamina, alertness, and emotional stability.
  • Have a general understanding of and proficiency with computer technology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to improving conditions and providing opportunities for all youth.
  • Able to encounter challenges with a solution mindset and remain optimistic despite setbacks with program.
  • Has flexibility and adaptability in work style and in work environments.
  • Can manage a dynamic “work” schedule with other jobs, personal responsibilities, school, etc.
  • Able to meet deadlines and complete tasks/projects on-time.
  • Members must have access to consistently reliable transportation.

Compensation: $50,000-$60,000
