Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compiles, analyzes and delivers a variety of financial, regulatory, and management reports including the Deposit Pricing, Loan Pricing, Investment, Loan participation and ALCO documents.
- Compiles and provides senior management monthly/quarterly financial forecasts, investments reporting, cash flow reporting and variance analyses.
- Works with stakeholders to develop new reports to enhance decision-making for current and future business cases and ensures the accurate and ongoing report delivery.
- Manages reporting inputs and outputs with particular attention to the underlying data that is used and ensure that the components are valid and accurate.
- Prepares insight-seeking analyses on behalf of business unit managers to potentially enhance business, mitigate risk, and/or help increase credit union safety and soundness.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the finance team while coordinating the efforts of the analyst group.
- Plans and directs the development and the implementation of the ALM and database reporting systems to create efficiencies.
- Responsible for the management, direction, and operation of the finance activities of the credit union such as the investment, borrowing, and cash flow management and associated policies and procedures.
- Administers the settlement of securities transactions and their cash flows and manages the reporting functions for the investment portfolio.
- Manages various department and company projects, including maintaining relationships and managing contracts with outside vendors.
- Administers the accurate data flow from the database and finance area e.g. analysis to consultants, operational data to professional service partners, finance and reporting to networking partners, etc.
- Is responsible for the employment, counseling, performance evaluation, training, motivation, and discipline of employees.
- Establishes and maintains effective communication and coordination with personnel and with management. Sets and manages the goals of the finance team.
- Responsible for quarterly ALM reporting to the committee and Board of Directors.
- Conducts due diligence on and recommends new vendors for work that requires third party expertise.
- Manages outside vendors for ALM, CECL, etc. To ensure both accuracy and timeliness.
- Responsible for reporting to vendors and outside professionals on an as needed basis along with variance reporting and analysis relative to the budget.
- Serves as the primary contact for ALM reporting and data warehouse reporting as it relates to Finance and Accounting. Responsible for other duties as assigned.
- Must comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills required:
- Must have college degree in Finance. Graduate degree preferred.
- Five years to ten years of similar or related experience.
- A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
- Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature.
- Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
- Excellent analytical skills, people skills and self-direction.
- Proficiency with PC accounting, spreadsheet, and word processing software Background in financial data processing systems preferred.
- Strong analytical and communication skills required. Must be able to work in groups. Strong prioritization and time management skills.
- Strong presentation skills that allow for tailoring of items to specific groups.
