The Manager, Engineering will be responsible for managing and executing NPI process tasks from concept to production, communicating with and providing guidance to NPI team members. In addition, you will provide a broad range of support to various production departments as required, to support new products and meet manufacturing goals.
Responsibilities
- Manufacturing Process Design - for high mix production environment
- Design and fabrication of production tooling and fixtures
- Programming / set-up, and operation of various CNC wood and metal working machines
- Programming / set-up, and operation of C02 laser cutting machines
- Hands-on involvement building prototypes, testing processes in the production environment.
- Documentation of new processes (process spec sheets, work instructions, video instructions, etc.)
- Providing training to production personnel on detailed aspects of new models and processes.
- Keeping abreast of new manufacturing technologies, providing recommendations and ROIs
- Collaborate with R&D and Product Development to implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Strong wood processing knowledge including woodworking cutting tools and methods
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred
- 10+ years of experience in a similar role
- Must have experience managing a team of direct reports
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, MasterCAM, and AutoCAD software systems
- Proficiency in CNC G-code programming with MasterCAM, and also manual editing/debugging
- Experience/capability to design tooling and production fixtures for various manufacturing areas
- Fundamentals of precision woodworking of various wood species
- Knowledge of wood behavior/husbandry
- Regularly updates management of achievements and projects status
- Self directed, ability to understand/prioritize assignments and meet deadlines, resolves roadblocks timely
- Full Integrity and responsibility a must
- Must have a thorough working knowledge of all facets of manufacturing processes, practical experience in a manufacturing environment, and good problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of Safety and Environmental regulations, and Lean or Total Quality Management Skills
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proven ability to work independently with some specific direction/instruction and to accomplish tasks and duties
- Proven ability to identify and scope large scale projects. Additionally, posses the ability to manage and lead complete project from start to closure with at times very little direction
- Ability to use experience and business understanding skills to solve problems as they arise, and meet project milestones and budgetary constraints

Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $105,600.00-$123,200.00 per year.
