Essential Functions:
- Responsible for playing a key role in designing and managing execution of sensory testing/CLTs and consumer market test research studies (buyer reaction, operator, mystery shop, etc.). Manage the final analysis and present results to Senior Manager/team, Senior Leadership and cross-functional team members. Responsibility may also include being onsite at facility for CLTs.
- Oversee the development and implementation of qualitative research for product positioning and planning by working with vendors to support and design moderator guides, coordinating with brand/agency to secure stimulus, analyzing results and presenting/prepping executive summary drafts for Senior Manager/team. Responsibility may also include being onsite at facility during groups.
- Develop strong partnerships with internal teams and external partners (i.e. IPC). Act as liason with other cross-functional team members.
- Manage multiple teams of research vendors. Responsible for research vendor selection, quality control and report delivery (on time and at budget).
- Play a leading role in identifying opportunities to use supplemental research through tools like the online community and syndicated platforms (such as Technomic) to support other ongoing product initiatives. Responsible for executing and analyzing results, sharing out with Senior Manager/team and Leadership.
- Manage research for naming and positioning for New Product platforms.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience and prior sensory/product testing experience required. Food service/restaurant industry knowledge a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment; must juggle multiple projects at once and remain flexible as priorities may change based on business needs.
- Creativity in suggesting out-of-the-box research solutions that are best suited to solve business challenges.
- Ability to analyze large amounts of information and utilize multiple data sources to mine insights.
- Strong presentation and written communication skills required.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Consistently looks for opportunities to optimize research methods/solutions as well as pull in supplemental tools for added value.
- Strong problem solving skills. Ability to identify and present viable solutions to research or business challenges that arise.
- Ability to manage workflow, train and act as mentor for junior level staff as needed.
