Education
Required - Bachelors Nursing, Dietician, Public Health
Preferred - Masters or Doctorate Nursing, Dietician, Public Health
Work Experience
Required - 3 to 5 Management, Quality Health,
Preferred - 5 to 10 Management, Quality Health, Scientific Method, and Data Analysis
Certifications
Required - Food Safety Certificate Can be obtained after hire within 1 month- Online course
Required - Current Good Food Manufacturing Certificate Can be Obtained after hire within 3 months- Online University course and required to become PCQI
Required - Preventative Quality Control Individual (PCQI) Can be obtained after hire within 6 months- Available online. Need to take The Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) training which is required by FDA
Preferred - RN license or registered Dietician
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Good Communication skills-interpersonal in person and written.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft office (Word, Power Point, Excel). Advanced skills in software management.
- Advanced skills in statistical functions in Excel and or SPSS.
- Utilize financial programs-Strata, Project Budget, Analyze trends.
- Builds internal relationships and creates external relationships between Ochsner and other healthcare facilities, local Louisiana Department of Health- Medicaid, Louisiana State Representatives and US government (Senators and House Representatives), Federal agencies (FDA, USDA), Community Partners and accreditation agency Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA).

Job Duties
- Oversee Milk Bank operations- Donor Coordinator Program, Milk Lab Operations, Depot Management, Outpatient Program, Shipping Program.
- Maintain HMBANA accreditation, FDA registration, and Communication/Recalls, Food Safety Program.
- Serves as liaison between HMBANA and the Milk Bank. Establishes new relationships through business development opportunities across the state with other health care organizations.
- Maintain and establish new agreements (contracts) with facilities to receive Pasteurized Human Donor Milk (PHDM).
- Maintain staff development and training in food safety, current Good Manufacturing skills.
- Responsible for oversight of daily operations of Milk Bank and staff, ensuring adherence to HMBANA Standards and all other regulatory requirements. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
- Performs other related duties as required.
