As Manager, Mortgage Closing you’ll bring significant closing experience, a commitment to delivering great member service, and make the home buying experience enjoyable for our members. You’ll focus on building a foundation from which the department can grow and scale. Responsible for establishing core principles and practices in the processing areas such as disclose accuracy, document preparation and review, guideline adherence, and timeline management.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • The Mortgage Processing Manager is responsible for managing a team of Mortgage Processors who are responsible for facilitating the processing loans within established guidelines, ensuring regulatory and organizational policies and procedures are adhered to
    • Ensure the processing team achieves and maintains the highest levels of productivity and efficiency
    • Manage the daily operations of the processing department to ensure the highest level of accuracy and turn-around times are achieved. Provide direction to loan processors regarding complex loans/issues.
    • Resolves day-to-day issues, answers questions, and resolves any problems that may arise
    • Oversight of HMDA data accuracy, checking all HMDA related fields within the LOS for LAR processing.
    • Establish and maintain loan cycle times and member service levels, provides input to established department goals and implements tactics to ensure metrics and/or goals are met
    • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the processing of a loan. Play an active role in pipeline management meetings, reducing friction in the loan lifecycle process to meet mortgage SLAs.
    • Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to work effectively with members, co-workers, management, partners and vendors.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, best practices, and market trends related to mortgage processing. Performs related duties as assigned. Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality
    • Enforce adherence to all state and federal regulations, mortgage lending and underwriting guidelines, and RESPA requirements while verifying loan applications from prospective home buyers, creating loan files, and processing loan closings
    • Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to work effectively with members, co-workers, management, partners and vendors.
    • Performs related duties as assigned.
    • Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree of equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum Seven years of mortgage processing experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Fannie Mae and all other secondary market guidelines.
  • Knowledge in the areas of TRID, Appendix Q, RESPA, MDIA, HMDA, TILA, ECOA, FCRA, Fair Lending
  • Familiar with MortgageBot and DocMagic a plus
  • Ability to work extended hours when required.

  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong PC skills,
  • Self-motivated, ability to communicate within a team to solve issues and drive results, positive attitude.
  • Requires attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Highly Ethical
