About the Role

TailorCare is looking for a Senior Analyst of Medical Economics to join our Actuarial/MedEcon team. You will play an integral role in the evaluation and enhancement of TailorCare's MSK intervention strategies. You will partner with our clinical and operations teams to evaluate current performance and research new opportunities to positively impact the patients we serve. You will also partner with Finance team members to evaluate the financial performance of our value based care contracts. This is a high impact role at TailorCare with ample opportunity within a growing start-up.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with clinical, analytics, and finance leaders across the organization to develop, forecast, and track population health and care management programs
  • Manage the development of ad-hoc reporting and monitoring processes for a variety of care model programs
  • Use historical population level data to create and assess performance outcomes (costs and utilization) to identify areas of opportunity
  • Interpret and analyze data from multiple sources including claims, provider, member, and encounters data to identify and assess the business impact of trends
  • Develop and troubleshoot complex scripts and reports using SQL, Excel, or other analytics tools
  • Produce monthly VBC financial reporting including IBNR estimates for finance
  • Develop models to support various actuarial, population health, and financial analysis across enterprise

Qualifications

  • 5 + years of experience working in an analytical role within the healthcare industry (preferably at Medicare risk bearing entity such as a health plan or Medicare ACO/Value Based Care entity)
  • 5 + years of experience using SQL to analyze eligibility and medical claims data
  • Experience with healthcare coding standards, including CPT, HCPCS, ICD10 Procedure, ICD10 Diagnostic, DRG, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, etc.
  • Ability to build excel reporting models to summarize and present healthcare eligibility and claims costs data
  • Good communication skills with comfort presenting to leadership
  • Bachelor's degree in business analytics, economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, public health, health informatics, healthcare administration, finance or related field or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred
