Overview

Mail Services is responsible for accurate and timely delivery of business mail.

Role Purpose

Responsible and accountable for the overall direction, organization, and management of a consolidated Mail Services operation for BJC HealthCare facilities on a single-entity or system-wide basis. Responsible for ongoing service level improvements, reengineering work flow processes and systems and maximizing cost effectiveness.

 

Responsibilities

Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.

Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.

Provides leadership and direction to the development and implementation of the most efficient Mail Services operations

Reengineers work flow processes and systems in order to maximize utilization of space, technology, equipment, and staff associated with a consolidated and regionally based mail service operations.

Implements in conjunction with other departments scheduled mail runs, routes, transportation services, and internal distribution processes to achieve optimal levels of customer service and accurate tracking.

Consolidates and leverages purchasing power in order to achieve most favorable postal rates, pre- sort, express and courier services.
