Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager-Logistics & Receiving.
In this role, the successful candidate as the Manager of Logistics and Receiving Operations primary responsibility is to set the schedule of deliveries coming to various loading docks of NYULMC. This person will work closely with end user departments, Purchasing & Sourcing, suppliers, couriers, contractors and the Lean team to create a daily schedule for usage of NYULMC loading docks. This position will liaison with the Sr. Security Manager of Dock Operations to provide upcoming delivery schedules and discuss his or her feedback on how to improve the dock schedule and hallway traffic. This person will also set workflow on the docks and traffic within the hallways leading to the docks. This position will also be responsible for providing support for the Receiving operations at ACC@38th Street and ACC@41st Street.
Job Responsibilities:
    • Maintain relationships with management in Security, Lean Management Office and high volume dock user
      Departments (e.g. Receiving, Mail Room, Environmental Services, Building Services, Food & Nutrition, and Real
      Estate Development & Facilities); understand their resources, processes, requirements and priorities; as well as
      our overall organizational priorities.
      • When required, participate in daily/weekly/monthly site staff meetings, corporate planning meetings and conference
      calls.
      • Collaborate with other departments and participates in relevant Lean Six Sigma Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs)
      to formulate and implement updated policies, procedures, goals, or objectives.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.
      • When required, participate in daily/weekly/monthly site staff meetings, including corporate planning meetings and conference calls.
      • Collaborate with other departments and participates in relevant Lean Six Sigma Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs)
      to formulate and implement updated policies, procedures, goals or objectives.
      • Provide feedback to Assistant Director of Supply Logistics on all aspects of operations, staff productivity and budget
      variances.
      • Maintain records of upcoming and past schedules, statistics and metrics on schedule compliance, personnel and
      equipment issues..
      • Set the workflow on the traffic within the hallways leading to the docks, communicates with Sr. Security Manager
      of Dock Operations for Security staff reinforcement.
      • Work closely with staff and management of departments responsible for moving items from the loading docks (e.g.
      Food & Nutrition, Environmental Services and Real Estate & Development).
      • Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules,
      union contracts, and government regulations. Order supplies and equipment as necessary following departmental
      guidelines and standards.
      • Supervise Receiving staff activity on the loading dock and works with other Supply Chain Management (SCM) Supervisors to supervise staff activity within SCM departments to create an efficient workflow. Manage
      Receiving staff activities along with the appropriate site supervisors at the main campus dock areas Plan, organize,
      or manage the work of staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational
      requirements.
      • Control the activities of the Loading Dock areas, any activities in question or disputes will be resolved by the
      Logistics Manager-Materials/Dock Operations without bias.
      • Communicate the schedule to suppliers and common couriers and gains their buy in and participation. Set the
      workflow on the docks to ensure safe and efficient dock workflow, clearing dock space for additional deliveries.
      • Operations for short term or on the spot schedule updates or decisions as needed.
      • Create a daily dock delivery schedule without bias, communicates the schedule to the Sr. Security Manager of
      Dock Operations and reviews his or her feedback. Communicates with Sr. Security Manager of Dock
      • Identifies and understand features and limitations of our docks, including timing, maneuverability, length, width and
      dependencies (e.g. if we have 7 bays, only center 3 may accommodate large 40 trucks and if all 3 are scheduled
      at the same time 4 smaller bays may not be available to use).
      • Maintain relationships with Purchasing, Sourcing, frequently used suppliers, trucking companies, and common
      couriers; understand their resources and processes.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a BS/BA degree in job related field preferred.3+ years experience in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, dock operations or transportation preferred. Knowledge of PeopleSoft (eProcurement application).
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent written and oral communication skills Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to organize, motivate, and lead employees. Strong tactical (hands) on management experience. Strong conflict management experience. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $76,721.83 - $105,899.28 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
