Job Summary:
The Manager Information Technology works as a leader within Resource Industries - IT, Order Fulfillment and Procurement Division. Portfolio includes Order Intake, Sales Configuration Management and various other digital products and applications. The candidate will work directly with business units, Group CIO organizations and other IT organizations to support the modernization of sales system and processes and provide service support for production applications. The Manager Information Technology is accountable for: providing leadership and guidance to the system teams across the organization in direct collaboration with system engineering, enterprise architects and process/data owners.
What You Will Do:
Direct management for a team of Project Managers, Team Leads and System Analysts.
Responsible for maximizing the value of the product and the work of the Global Development Center.
Responsible for acting as Delivery Owner for large, complex transformation projects with high value to the organization.
Responsible for the technical vision of what is to be built, and conveying that vision to the team.
Collaborates with Business Analysts and Project Managers.
Work closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization.
Represent the customer, interfacing and engaging with the customer.
Inspect the product progress at and accept or reject the delivery quality.
Be a good role model of project management and DevSecOps values; understand the framework and the roles of each team member.
Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.
What You Have:
Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Knowledge of marketplace experience, developments and trends related to the organization's use of Information Technology (IT); ability to apply knowledge of IT appropriately to benefit the organization.
Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Knowledge of the critical competencies required to achieve intended results; ability to generate consistent approaches for hiring, selection, retaining and leveraging talent across the organization.
Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing, and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers).
Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) service; ability to manage IT services and oversee service operations.
Four-year Bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field.
Direct development and/or deployment experience with SaaS and custom applications.
Experience working with onshore/offshore team model.
Extensive job-related IT experience.
Strong experience in digital product management.
Strong experience leading enterprise development / deployment teams.
Strong experience in sales domain.
Domain knowledge in sales, order management and supply chain business processes.
Highly developed interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive, emotional, or potentially controversial situations.
Demonstrated ability to empower teams.
