SalaryMajor responsibilities for the Manager, Income Tax include driving federal and multistate Income Tax compliance and reporting, forecasting, and other projects/management initiatives as requested. Must possess managerial and technical skills related to Income Tax matters, and in developing and updating processes and procedures needed to comply with international, federal, state and local Income Tax regulations and Income Tax accounting rules. Additionally, the Manager, Income Tax will identify opportunities to minimize tax expense and cash tax payments. The position also involves managing domestic and international strategic tax planning initiatives and process improvements. This position will report to the Senior Tax Manager and will at times work closely with other members of the finance organization. The candidate must possess sufficiently strong leadership capabilities and excellent written and communication skills to be able to present to senior finance management.

- Manage preparation of income, franchise, and composite tax returns for a large multistate S corporation with US and foreign subsidiaries/disregarded entities.
- Manage federal and state Income Tax workbook preparation including review of staff and senior prepared tax adjustments, schedules, account mapping, and tax basis tracking.
- Assure Income Tax workpapers and documentation adequately supports future federal and state Income Tax audits.
- Conduct research for complex tax issues, regulations, legislative updates, and documenting the company’s position.
- Research and determine new income, franchise and gross receipts tax filing obligations.
- Support review of tax compliance with respect to tax credits, tax rates, return-to-provision analysis, tax compliance memos
- Manage federal and state Income Tax audits and properly responding to all information document requests (IDRs)
- Responsible for reviewing all tax correspondence/inquiries received and responding to them.
- Manage and monitor a complete and accurate Income Tax calendar.
- Assist in the implementation of Income Tax planning projects.
- Liaise with operating management on Income Tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues.
- Assist legal with certain franchise and gross receipt filings.
- Provide support for tax forecasts.
- Collaborate with other departments such as FP&A and accounting to support various Income Tax positions and/or overall company initiatives.
- Responsible for ensuring that all Income Tax accounts/information is properly reflected in the financial statements, including Income Taxes payable, deferred assets/liabilities, provision for Income Taxes (current and deferred provision), tax adjustments in the statement of cash flows and stockholders' equity as well as coordination with the Company's auditors.
- Manage federal and state tax provision and ASC 740 accounting.
- Act in a lead role in assessing tax planning issues and work closely with Sr. Tax Manager on such matters.
- Manage and mentor staff and seniors, encourage a collaborative team atmosphere and mentoring staff and seniors includes providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback.

Requirements
Job Qualifications – Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, business, finance or related field
- 6 + years’ experience in Income Tax, with 2+ years’ experience in a tax supervisory role within a national accounting firm or large multistate corporation, CPA strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, tax accounting, and tax law acquired through increasingly responsible professional and supervisory positions as a tax professional in public accounting and/or industry.
- In-depth knowledge of US tax laws. Prior experience with Chinese tax laws a plus
- Strong technical knowledge of complex tax issues and general business acumen
- Strong understanding of federal and multi-state flow-through and corporate Income Taxation
- Proficient in federal and state Income Tax regulations and issues of S corporations.
- Experience with flow-through entity taxation and related issues regarding basis, contributions, and distributions
- Experience in tax inventory calculations (§263A, etc.), tax depreciation, and calculating complex book/tax adjustments.
- Friendly and tactful with the ability to influence others, effectively manage conflict, exercise sound judgment, effectively manage highly sensitive and confidential information, interact at all levels within the organization, and build cross-functional partnerships across the business.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.
