Job Description
This is an in office position in Knoxville, TN
The purpose of this job is to manage the operations of the Income Tax team and review returns, conduct tax research and improve department practices and procedures based upon tax law requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- Masters' degree in taxation or LLM preferred
- Minimum five years' public accounting or corporate/public accounting experience required
- Minimum two years' supervisory experience required
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or pursuit of CPA preferred
- Partnership and S Corporation multi-state, multi-entity experience preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Access, required
- Tax research
- Accounting and tax software skills
- Ability to lead and manage a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with different levels of the organization
- Ability to take initiative, work independently and work with a team
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to identify tax research issues and utilize appropriate resources for resolution
- Ability to problem solve, manage conflict, influence and negotiate
