WBRE 28/WYOU 22 is looking for a Commercial Production Manager to lead a highly motivated and creative team responsible for cutting-edge television commercials and digital products from concept to completion in a highly competitive and creative atmosphere. The Commercial Production Manager reports to the Creative Services Director and oversees commercial producers. The production manager is responsible for the creation, management and oversight of client commercials, recorded programs including but not limited to paid programs, lifestyle show segments and digital advertising with the objective of delivering results.
- Create client commercials from concept to completion.
- Creatively write, shoot and edit content to tell compelling stories.
- Collaborate with creative team, account executives and project stakeholders to produce videos and digital content that are on brand and drive results.
- Plan and manage staffing and training for the Commercial Producers.
- Assigns projects to staff and verify deadlines are being met.
- Maintain a variety of projects and work with varying production styles while employing strong client service skills.
- Coordinate production, including working with clients, account executives, agencies, as well as planning location(s), talent, music, voice-over and reserving any other technical pieces needed for project.
- Manage video equipment and software needs.
- Manage and assist with on location shoots for live broadcasts such as parades and telethons.
- Extensive shooting and scripting of both short and long form commercials from concept to completion.
- Interpreting the client's business needs; developing design briefs by gathering information and data to clarify design issues.
- Perform other duties, as directed by management.
Requirements & Skills
- Degree in Communication, Marketing, Advertising or related field. Or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Minimum three years professional video production experience, preferably in marketing and advertising.
- Advanced knowledge of cameras, videography, graphic design, motion graphics, video editing and lighting techniques.
- Excellent communication skills; oral, written and video.
- A passion to stay up to date on production trends and continually strive to push boundaries.
- Possess a strong understanding of fundamental design, a strong sense of color, typography and composition.
- Software skills required include: Adobe CC Suite production package including; Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition and Media Encoder.
- Position requires day to day multi-tasking and managing multiple projects simultaneously with frequent change in direction and priority.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Occasional weekend, evening and holiday shifts may be required.
- Meet all deadlines, fulfill scheduling commitments and consistently achieve quick turnarounds in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge, skills and performance.
