Job description

Manages all Guest Room Attendants and Housepersons to ensure efficiency, profitability and delivery of Four Diamond guest service by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. 


  • Ensure all rooms and Hallways are in compliance with 4-Star/4-Diamond expectations.
  • Establishes job responsibilities, training and control costs within the Hotel Housekeeping department.
  • Oversee daily operation of GRA cleaning for the hotel rooms’ area.
  • Communicate to the Executive Housekeeper information and statistics pertinent to planning and execution of maximizing revenue while increasing guest perception.
  • Inspect rooms as required to ensure they meet our 4-Star/4-Diamond requirements.
  • Completes and communicates maintenance work orders.
  • Ensures guest requests are handled in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensures accuracy of nightly housekeeping reports and investigates discrepancies.
  • Conducts linen and supply inventories monthly to submit to Executive Housekeeper.
  • Tracks the inventory, purchasing and disbursement for all linens, cleaning supplies, guest room and restroom supplies, laundry supplies, etc.
  • Supervises the operation (and/or outsourced relationship) with the laundry vendor.
  • Personally completes Guest Room Attendant other housekeeping departmental duties when needed.
  • Utilizes proper/approved cleaning materials and solutions.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Requires strong leadership and motivational skills.  Will interact with various levels of staff, management, government officials, and the public. 
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training team members; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; grooming standards, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

Computer skills, good verbal and writing skills. In-depth knowledge of Hotel Housekeeping operations. Skilled in LMS, scheduling, hotel room quality control. Team leader and innovator. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of classified information. Ability to tactfully and diplomatically interact with the public and staff. Must possess excellent business sense and high professional ethics. Must possess a high regard for guest service and team member relations.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in Hotel Housekeeping operations, preferably at a luxury resort. Casino experience preferred but not required. Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred but not required. 

 

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Exceptional speaking skills are important to the successful conduct of this position. Tact and diplomacy are essential in all cases.  Must be able to read, write & speak English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Must have the ability to write routine correspondence and reports.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.   

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Must have the ability to independently problem-solve challenging situations. Must reason with people effectively yet cordially. Professional demeanor and optimism are essential. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to sit and often will stand or walk. The team member frequently is required to reach with arms and use hands to manipulate or feel. The team member might occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. This position requires the ability to hear and speak on the telephone and vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The duties of this position are typically performed in a casino hotel resort environment with moderate noise, and adequate lighting. Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa is a smoking environment.

 

WORKING HOURS:

Because we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most positions require flexibility in scheduling and may require team members be available for evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. A typical workweek and normal work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include scheduled shifts Monday through Sunday. Position may require overtime.
