Job Summary
Directs and manages the initiatives associated with the applicable technical functions of gas measurement and regulation (M&R). Ensures that efforts are in accordance with all applicable company and regulatory requirements while ensuring safe, reliable service to customers in an efficient, economical manner.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs and manages support of technical operations functions for the NIPSCO operating territory.
- Establishes priorities and develops programs to obtain value-added M&R facilities and work activities to support safe and reliable operations.
- Responsible for establishing and managing operations budgets to meet strategic objectives
- Establishes operating responsibilities/expectations for the front-line supervision, union technicians, contractors, and technical support staff.
- Implements initiatives that ensure compliance and regulatory agency requirements.
- Identify, develop and prioritize delivery of technical services training
- Fosters the necessary environment for effective customer satisfaction
- Keep abreast of latest technologies, rulemaking, and practices related to M&R.
- Provide emergency response leadership and support 24/7/365.
Required Qualifications for Position
- Three (3) years of leadership experience
- Five (5) years operations (field or support) experience
- Understanding of budgeting processes
- Demonstrated knowledge of the philosophy and process of continuous improvement
- Broad familiarity with PC applications
- Knowledge of LDC operations, policies, programs and practices
- Demonstrated ability to partner with peers to drive organizational and departmental objections.
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
- Experience in managing one or more of the following functions: measurement, regulation, corrosion, leakage
- Demonstrated ability to provide oversight, leadership and direction in the overall management of M&R.
- Familiarity with NIPSCO Capital and O&M budgeting processes
