DESCRIPTION

The Global Security Analytics Team supports criminal investigations impacting AXP customers, enterprise, and colleagues. This role encompasses data mining, fraud analysis, and risk to identify linkages, preparing reports, and collaborating with relevant business partners for the successful prosecution of fraud and cybercrime.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Analyze data, links, and evidence to support fraud and cybercrime investigations, including highly complex fraud cases involving organized criminal groups and online activity.
  • Work with internal groups to help American Express minimize risk and exposure to fraud (e.g., assess risk, identify security weaknesses, close gaps).
  • Knowledge of qualitative business analysis in a risk environment.
  • Effective job prioritization to address critical requests for analysis and findings.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Two years recent experience working with data in Cornerstone (required).
  • Knowledge of AMEX products, merchant relationships, and banking (preferred).
  • Strong ability to analyze large data sets and understand the complexity of fraud activity.
  • Solid understanding of cybercrime tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Proficient with Excel managing high volumes of data.
  • Motivated to learn and work in a changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications.


EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience as a cybercrime investigator or fraud analyst preferred.
  • 5+ years’ working in one or more areas: investigations (fraud or cyber), fraud analysis, fraud risk.
  • Possesses the ability to review information to determine its significance, validate its accuracy, and assess its reliability.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
