Multi-unit retailer United Pacific and Rocket Stores is looking for a Manager, Food Service Development and Execution who is passionate about fresh food and innovation. We are a fast growth company that has doubled in size in the last four years. We are developing additional fresh offerings in all our retail locations across California, Oregon, Washington and Colorado.

In this role you will lead and manage our fresh/Food Service offerings including helping us discover new and exciting fresh offerings, develop and maintain relationships with product vendors and ensure our fresh programs are launched successfully in our stores. We’re looking for someone to be a data driven analytical decision-maker, utilizing external/internal data to validate the success of new and existing programs to ensure we capitalize on opportunities and test innovative concepts at retail.
This includes a close partnership with the Training and Development, Legal Compliance and Retail Operations teams. The role also requires some travel to our retail and QSR locations in CA, OR, WA and CO.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
- Experience in the Convenience Retail Food Service industry is required.
- 10+ years of experience in merchandising/category management/procurement required.
- A proven track record of developing, managing, operating, and implementing successful Food Service programs at retail is a must.
- Strong understanding of product assortment, placement, pricing, concept Development and retail operational processes in Food Service.
- Strong negotiation skills are required, specifically with suppliers and vendors.
- A self-starter with proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, and consistently strives to exceed expectations.
- Strong analytic, presentation and sales skills are a must.
- Demonstrated abilities to think strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and creative action plans.
- High level of problem-solving skills; must be highly analytical and be able to create/interpret analysis to support recommendations | Understanding of P&L
- Demonstrated success in business development; proven track record of building relationships while developing existing relationships.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external groups including office personnel, vendors, and other customers.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- High comfort level with Microsoft Outlook & Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up type environment.
- Ability to provide proof of employment to work in the US if hired.
- Candidate must be willing to travel up to 20%
