Job Summary

This position involves direct oversight of the Terminal and FLNG related field office facilities. This is a multi-faceted position, responsible for creating and implementing procedures, all facility matters of maintenance, repairs, expansions, lease management, and office/cubicle space allocation. Act as point of contact for Freeport LNG service contractors performing repair or maintenance work in FLNG owned facilities. The successful individual will support terminal needs by assisting with contractor resource management, planning and scheduling, risk identification, cost forecasting and KPI tracking. This individual will be responsible for facilitating contractor mobilization, verification of contractor time and material contract charges, change order management, and service work close-out. This position requires an individual that is experienced in managing facility preventative maintenance, maintenance, repairs, scope of work, schedule, and cost in a chemical, petroleum, LNG or similar process facility. This role requires organizational effectiveness, efficiency, communication, scheduling, and safety.

Location/Travel Information

This position is currently based at the Quintana LQF Terminal with frequent travel to off-site locations as required. This position requires the incumbent to hold a valid, unexpired driver license at all times in order to perform the essential functions of the job.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Liaison between contractor and FLNG departments such as Maintenance, Operations, Regulatory, and OHS
  • Communicates expectations with contractors regarding, permitting, safety, work orders, schedules, time approvals, and invoicing
  • Develops and implements action plans for cost avoidance, risk mitigation, and schedule recovery when required
  • Serves as the first level review and approval for all submitted change orders related to facility repair or maintenance services of any FLNG owned property
  • Performs job walk-downs and safety observations as required
  • Performs minor facility building or housing repairs; repairs not requiring a permit
  • Supports Procurement during contractor selection and bid process
  • Ensures a consistent inventory of required office furnishing, repair materials, and tools for maintenance across all sites which includes management of budget and costs.
  • Requires verification of receipt of supplies, equipment, furniture and materials while maintaining and managing associated vendor and internal customer relationships
  • With support from Procurement, negotiates furniture, equipment, provisions, repairs, and consumables in accordance with purchasing policies and budgetary restriction
  • Ensures execution of SAP processing for purchases against the Office Services budget, requisition creation, Service Entry Sheet (SES) entry and invoicing
  • Work with and provide support to the Director, Operations Shared Services, working with the administrative team, Shared Services department, and executives for office allocation, office moves, facility expansions, the procurement of office equipment, furniture and ancillary facility needs
  • Negotiates and manages all agreements for office construction, modifications, relocations, and improvements
  • Organize office furniture installations and moves, security, control, and organization of master and office keys
  • Coordinates and ensures completion of all required facility inspections, maintenance, repairs, and certifications when warranted, elevators are one example
  • Per our procedures, ensures all facilities are secured prior to inclement weather event

Essential Functions

  • Be completely conversant on the status of all Freeport LNG Terminal related office facilities, buildings, and housing
  • Establish a safety-first culture with all activities
  • Develop, improve, document, and distribute best practices in Facility policies and procedures
  • Responsible for participation in the achievement of the Company and departmental goals determined by both the company and departmental management
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible Full-Time schedule that may include weekends and holidays in emergency situations
  • Must be able to provide own transportation to various locations in the organizational service areas, as required by duties
  • Entering work orders for Nested Contractors capable of performing work for the facilities maintenance and/or repairs

Minimum Qualification/Work Experience

Minimum Education Required: High school diploma, 2 Year Technical Degree or suitable combination of education and 7 years of responsible facilities experience involving an industrial buildings and office setting

Minimum Experience Required: 5 - 7 years’ experience of industrial Facilities management

Preferred Education: BA or technical degree in facility management, Construction Management or engineering

Preferred Experience: 5-7 years of experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent related functions with knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations, general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management

HSE Roles and Responsibilities


Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Freeport LNG Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Actively participate in the HSE Management System Policies. Ensure that HSE concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This role will require the individual to walk throughout areas of the facility as required. This would require the ability to:

  • Stand continuously and perform job functions for a full shift
  • Ability to move throughout all areas of the facilities
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment, at heights, and in inclement weather at times
  • Ability to drive to other office and off-site locations as required
  • Physically able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 30 lbs. without assistance
  • Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions
  • Ability to distinguish color to perform job functions
  • Must be able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions
  • Obtain and maintain access requirements for all FLNG sites
  • While performing the duties of this role, the incumbent will be required to talk or hear
  • The incumbent is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
