Job description

Cox Communications, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Enterprise Pricing and Competitive Intelligence to drive the strategic vision for Enterprise Pricing for Products, Bundles, Promotions and Marketing Campaign development (in conjunction with Enterprise Marketing), as well as oversee their implementation, in Salesforce and other sales and billing systems. The candidate will guide revenue growth, cost reduction, and improved program effectiveness as well as ensuring revenue and profitability goals are achieved. This position will help execute pricing architecture and strategy across multiple product lines. This position will also monitor and report pricing effectiveness and engage Product Managers to support the product roadmap to anticipate and meet future customer needs. This role reports to the Director of Enterprise Pricing Strategy.
What You'll Do

  • Lead and direct pricing strategy formulation and take necessary pricing actions to enhance profitability, ensuring integrity and accuracy in all pricing matters.
  • Assist with pricing negotiations of customers' proposals.
  • Prepare clearly BAFO (Best and Final Offers) as needed on assigned architected products.
  • Conduct field research and cost revisions and obtain buy-in through oral presentations to boundary partners and executives. This also requires analyzing current rates and product differences for similar products in the industry, to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Maintain and regularly update pricing history spreadsheets, by market, on assigned architected products.
  • Perform financial evaluation to assess pricing action effectiveness and impact on margins and the relationship between Pricing and the product roadmap.
  • Define and document new business procedures, evaluate resource requirements, and stimulate implementation and maintenance within CB Force.
  • Manage and supervise Co-Op Students, Summer Interns, and/or pricing analysts to support activities inclusive of Enterprise Pricing Intelligence (EPI) database updates, EPI processes and procedures, EPI dashboard updates and reporting, new price generation and discrepancy resolution on assigned architected products.
  • Manage FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests - USAC Data, quotes and bids input - to outside agency, data integrity audits, as well as imports to EPI.
  • Partner with buyers, product managers, and sales department to ensure a seamlessly integrated profit-maximizing approach to the market.
  • Analyze the financial impact of price approach in view of overall history as well as lifetime profitability of customers.
  • Work with Enterprise Marketing organization to set up special marketing and pricing bundles and campaigns and assist in determining effectiveness of the campaigns.
  • Manage monthly reporting on Promotions, Bundles, Assigned Product Pricing, and Marketing Campaigns across assigned products and bundles and assigned customer segments to ensure timeliness and accuracy of reports.
  • Drive the development of K-12 competitive pricing analysis, recommendations, and reporting.

Who You Are
Minimum
  • One of the following BA/BS degree and 6 years of related experience (Pricing, Operations, Marketing, Sales or Product Management field in a competitive industry) OR MS degree and 4 years of related experience, OR Ph.D and 1 year of related experience or High school diploma/GED and 10 years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of K-12 E-rate Process and FOIA
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise telecommunications products and services
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and partner with cross-functional teams to successfully execute large-scale projects
  • Strong ability to create, organize, analyze, and interpret complex data sets, draw conclusions, and communicate findings and recommendations to others in a simple and easy to understand manner
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Proven ability to create and maintain Data Sets
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization.
  • Excellent business acumen with strong story-telling skills to communicate effectively and drive action
  • Must possess an internal client service orientation and work effectively in a matrix management environment
  • Ability to grasp and explain complicated subject matter to others across the organization who are less connected to the situation and/or are less technically oriented.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and accountability while understanding how decisions impact customer behavior and profitability.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and multiple assignments effectively, shift priorities, work independently, and meet project deadlines.
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%

Preferred
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience in telecommunications or other subscription-based business
  • Prior Sales, marketing, and project management experience
  • Marketing Mix optimization experience in telecommunications products and services
  • Experience in product pricing architecture as well as bundle and promotion pricing development
  • Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau), Pricing and/or business strategy
  • Experience with Salesforce
