The Opportunity:

As a Manager, Engineering at Sephora, you will: Lead, design, and implement innovative analytical solutions using Hadoop, NoSQL, and related Big Data technologies. Work with the Product and Engineering teams to analyze business requirements and evaluate new computer systems features and architecture in order to leverage big data solutions inform business decisions. Analyze business data processing requirements to implement and improve computer systems. Work collaboratively with systems architects and technical leads across functional groups. Prepare technical analysis of business system issues and technical environments and design technical solutions. Lead by example to build a high performance engineering culture, help to mentor team members, and ensure team access to necessary tools and motivation. Participate in code reviews. Test computer system solutions to ensure best practice specifications are met. Work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to develop new solutions and enhance existing systems. (May work from home up to 3 days per week with manager approval.)

We are excited about you if you have:

• Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology.
• Ten (10) years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in software development and deployment.

Experience must include:

• Building data ingestion pipelines, highly scalable Big Data Solutions and distributed applications;
• Data warehouse and database architecture development;
• Open source big data components;
• Data modeling;
• Microsoft Azure;
• Spark and Databricks;
• Continuous integration framework;
• Programming and scripting in Scala, Java, Python, or R; and
• Five (5) years of experience with Hadoop applications including administration, configuration management, monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning.

Salary: $184,000 to $210,000 per year depending on experience
