Manager Employee Assistance Program

The Texas Health Employee Assistance Program Manager (EAP Manager) works collaboratively to enhance the quality, efficiency, and innovation of EAP service offerings. Reporting to, and in collaboration with the Leader, the EAP Manager will be involved in maintaining strong relations with both clients and stakeholders and will be involved in both direct service delivery as well as managerial oversight. The EAP manager will provide clinical and administrative supervision and will serve as mentor, coach, and teacher for clinical staff, as well as providing backup clinical and administrative coverage. The EAP manager will oversee projects for the EAP service line, ensuring timely and successful implementation. The EAP manager will also possess strong customer service skills and a strategic vision to achieve program excellence.
  • Work location: Hybrid: Flexibility of where the candidate will office. Some travel throughout the DFW area.

Job Duties
Serves as the clinical subject matter expert regarding the full range of EAP services and provides advanced consultation, guidance, and triage services to clients and stakeholders to help resolve broad, complex, and sensitive matters. Assumes all EAP clinician responsibilities, including involvement in intake assessments, crisis intervention, short-term solution-focused counseling, resource referrals, and case management for individuals, couples, and minors. Provides organizational consultations to stakeholders, as well as responds to workplace trauma, crisis, and loss utilizing Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) interventions. Provides comprehensive case management and referrals to specialized services such as substance abuse treatment, psychiatry, and psychotherapy providers. Enters relevant client interface data into the EAP document management system according to established metrics. Develops and presents various courses and training for employees in large or small group settings. Participates in wellness/safety fairs, and other outreach events to help ensure strong EAP visibility and utilization.
Manages staff in collaboration with the EAP leader. Ensures that the delivery of EAP services is consistent, reliable and in compliance with state, federal, and national standards. Supports continuous staff learning, creates staffing/coverage plans, and prioritizes the emotional and restorative work for staff, with a focus on staff engagement. Works collaboratively with the EAP leader in the onboarding of EAP staff, responsible for providing clinical and administrative oversight via case reviews/audits and is involved in outcome assessment reviews. Recruits, interviews, hires and manages performance of staff. Ensures case documentation is maintained accurately, timely, and comprehensively in compliance with state and federal privacy and confidentiality laws. Provides clinical and administrative oversight and coverage as needed, including afterhours support and travels to EAP sites and covered entities as required.
Works closely with the EAP Leader to advance strategic projects for the purpose of improving the customer experience, including both enhancements to existing processes, as well as launching new service innovations. Identifies new or trending services innovations and determines viability for use. Advances initiatives across the enterprise to significantly improve the efficiency and the effectiveness of service delivery.
Education
Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work required
Ph.D. Psychology, Counseling or Social Work Ph.D or equivalent preferred
Experience
3 years Healthcare related Psychology, Counseling or Social Work experience required
2 years Management (project management/leadership) experience required
3 years EAP counseling experience preferred
2 years Healthcare project management or consulting experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
LMSW - Licensed Master Social Worker, or, LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or, LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor, or, Psychologist required upon hire.
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually required within 30 days of hire.
Skills
Ability to deliver client-focused solutions and evaluate customer satisfaction. Strong understanding of EAP clinical and administrative operations and ability to communicate, present, and influence effectively at all levels of the organization. Knowledge of human resource practices and the intersection with EAP practices.
Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to make independent decisions, work efficiently, multitask and think critically. Must possess the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people including various healthcare professionals, administrators, and leaders. Advanced skills in problem solving, conflict resolution, and decision making relevant to EAP matters. Independently practices as part of the healthcare team. Knowledge and skills in providing supervision and management to individual employees.
Ability to handle varying responsibilities and manage multiple projects concurrently with attention to detail. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected to reach agreed upon objectives, with a focus on flexibility, innovation and creativity. Proven analytical skills to collect, manipulate and analyze statistical data to inform sound decision-making. Strong project management skills and understanding of change management. Advanced skills in communicating verbally and in writing, including the ability to work collaboratively with employees across organizational lines.
Travel Requirements
Local 20% Travel to THR entities as needed
