Hybrid , reporting to a specific location where work needs to be performed / collaboration should happen (regardless this location is within a hub) and without regard to where a candidate lives (some employees may end up hybrid who live more than 50 miles away but where business needs dictate them to be onsite at a specific location three days per week).

  • This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center- Cole Engineering Center Podium three times per week, at minimum

About the Role:

  • The position will be responsible for the identification and incubation of strategic growth initiatives for the Digital Commerce organization, reporting to the Associate Director, Digital Commerce Growth Strategy. The position will develop new ideas, processes, standards or plans in support of the organization’s business objectives with a direct impact on the line of business results. This individual is expected to partner with leaders across the Digital Commerce team as well as collaborate with other strategy leaders across Digital business and the Digital Commerce Product, UX, and Tech teams.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Own long-term planning across Digital Commerce, including ownership of the overarching Digital Commerce and Service Long-Term Plan (LTP)
  • Support the development of Digital Commerce and Service Objectives and Key Results that enable our growth in line with LTP glidepaths
  • Develop new strategies and plans based on business needs, both short-term and in support of long-term strategic plans
    • i.e. Integrated Retail global expansion strategy
    • i.e. eCommerce global expansion strategy, channel migration strategy and category expansion support
  • Partner with Line of Business Leaders, Chief of Staff to the VP of Digital Commerce and Service, and other strategic partners [i.e. Enterprise Data, Analytics, & Insights (EDAI)] to drive the measurement and analytics framework around our growth plans – from a forecasting standpoint to hypothesis measurement to OKR performance, through program success
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to frame business needs and translate those into strategic direction; Influence others within the organization to pursue cross-functional growth opportunities
  • Understand key strategic growth opportunities and work with the Digital Commerce Growth Strategy team to provide valuable information in support of the company with an external consumer and competitive perspective
  • Develop and deliver effective presentations and written reports to multiple GM leadership levels and functions

Additional Description

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred
  • 8-10 years of experience with demonstrated success in strategic planning, Digital Commerce, digital transformation
  • Experience with eCommerce strategy development through execution; familiarity with Digital Commerce platforms
  • Highly-accountable individual comfortable working autonomously, dealing with ambiguity
  • High degree of critical thinking and demonstrated ability to develop solutions to complex business critical issues
  • Intellectual curiosity, analytical patience, and willingness to develop an idea into a strategic direction through iteration and synthesis
  • Ability to comprehend, and translate complexity into opportunities for action
  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to influence varying levels of the organization through excellent written communications and visual storytelling
  • Experience in Consulting/Business/Finance, or a strong understanding of long-term financial planning, revenue modeling, etc.
  • Promotes GM values and makes customer-focused decisions.
