Paramount is seeking a Manager to join the Creative Music Strategy team, focusing on Unscripted Series, News, and Documentaries across Paramount's global cable brands, streaming services, and beyond! This is a hybrid position, which means you are expected to be in the Gower, Hollywood office at least 2 days per week.
Overview and Responsibilities:
The Creative Music Strategy team is a full-service music-focused group leading Music Strategy across Paramount Global, covering iconic cable brands and streaming services. Expertise includes Music Supervision, Music Clearance, Music Marketing, and Music Operations. Collaborating with content creators, artists, composers, songwriters, labels, and publishers, we shape the sound of our shows. We also operate Viacom Music Publishing, Audio Releases/Soundtracks, the Paramount Global Music Platform, and external licensing opportunities. Reporting to the Senior Director, Creative Music Strategy, this role is integral to partnering with network executives, producers, 3rd party production companies, music supervisors, composers, songwriters, record labels, and publishers to define our content's sound.
- Support Senior Vice President and Senior Director in implementing Creative Music Strategy across Unscripted, News & Documentary projects.
- Identify all production music needs during development/greenlight, recommending ancillary budgets for additional music personnel and recording sessions.
- Provide music services, including budgeting, overall strategy, clearance negotiations, and licensing administration.
- Oversee ongoing creation of original music assets across projects.
- Advise and track music budgets, talent deals, composer deals, scoring process, and music delivery.
- Support and maintain partnerships with external partners, including record labels, publishers, managers, sync shops, composers, and agents.
- Work closely with internal and external groups, including Creative Executives, Production, Production Management, Music and Talent Department, Digital & Social teams, Marketing, PR, Business and Legal Affairs, and 3rd party productions.
- Creation, execution, and project management of marketing press and digital efforts alongside TV music placements.
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in music supervision at a major network or studio.
- Extensive understanding of music rights and licensing in the film/TV/media music industry.
- Proven experience in music supervision and clearances at a major network or studio, with excellent relationships in the film/TV music community.

- Proven ability to source and assess potential music talent for productions.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of reaching effective resolutions.
- In-depth knowledge of music, including its history, genres, and styles, and staying up-to-date with current music trends.
- Understanding of the creative and practical needs of creative executives, TV producers, composers, artists, record labels, music publishers, and music administrators.
- Strong research skills to support informed decision-making.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent relationships within the music community.

Additional Information:
Hiring Salary Range: $81 - $93K. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
