Job description

Position Summary:
Responsible for McLaren owned and rented properties within region as assigned. The objective is to implement and streamline the transaction and property management functions for all subsidiaries and the Corporate Real Estate portfolio. Assists and interacts with the various corporate departments in regard to facility, transaction and project management for region assigned. Develops and provides direct supervision and oversight for cost savings initiatives, document value add and savings for these initiatives. Provides support to Director Real Estates, CEOs and CFOs for subsidiaries in region in all areas related to Real Estate portfolio and specific to Real Estate operations, lease administration, strategic planning, contracted services and other related issues. Coordinates and supervises construction projects along with services between offsite facilities. Develops, submits, and coordinates with construction manager and customers on all capital projects. Provides weekly updates on work completion and financial status. Manages the maintenance and repair requirements for property equipment such as boilers, air handlers, hot water tanks, pumps, keys and door hardware.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  1. Provides reports regarding lease administration, market reports, and requests for proposals and matrix evaluation to identify financially sound interests. Provides financial information to senior leadership with recommendations. Assists and reviews the financial administration and daily supervision of any subsidiaries off-site Real Estate as well as assists with the annual operating and capital budget.
  2. Supervises third party contractors or other maintenance personnel at any off-site locations. Reviews, recommends and negotiates with Corporate SCM in developing regional contracts and service standards that meet the needs of the corporation with the goal to reduce operating costs and add value.
  3. Implements cost savings initiatives to stream line the overall process in managing the Real Estate portfolio for all of Mclaren and its subsidiaries.
  4. Analyzes, develops and negotiates contracts to maintain a uniform level of service that will meet certain performance specifications, including quantitative cost savings and qualitative customer service for the Real Estate portfolio.
  5. Interacts and assists in the facilities, property and construction management services for all subsidiaries of McLaren.
  6. Routinely meets and interacts with senior leadership to understand their Real Estate needs and implement an agreed upon strategy to meet their needs for future or existing Real Estate.
  7. Develops, implements and maintains records of property agreements and contracted services as well as lease information. Provides regular reports to support the development of operational and capital budget process and long-term strategy of Real Estate portfolio.
  8. May oversee the preparation of financial statements and periodic reports on the status of various properties, lease expirations and related matters.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in management, business, or related field.
  • Five years related Real Estate experience and/or training with progressively more complex and responsible emphasis on facilities management, construction/project management and transaction management with demonstrated supervisory experience
  • National or regional experience with a Real Estate company that has provided outsourced Real Estate services.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Real Estate Salesperson/Broker License
  • Real estate designation from Builders Owners Management Association (BOMA) such as a RPA designation or Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and the CPM designation other types of designations would be SIOR or CCIM.
