Position
The claims department at WCF has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as Manager, Claims Analytics reporting to the VP, Claims Services. This position is a full-time, exempt position, based out of the Sandy, Utah Headquarters. This position is open to internal and external candidates and will require being in office three days a week.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with claims leaders and business intelligence colleagues to identify opportunities, define solutions, set priorities, and track progress.
- Mentor and guide claims data analysts to successfully define methodologies, scope deliverables, and ensure quality.
- Produce consistent quantitative and qualitative analysis in a clear and concise format.
- Oversee the development of Claims Analytics tools for all lines of commercial insurance (workers' compensation, auto, property, liability).
- Create and enhance recurring KPI and operational reports to provide actionable insights.
- Develop visual management dashboards for various users, from executive to front line.
- Oversee ad hoc projects and analysis.
- Regularly communicate business and process improvement recommendations to claims leaders with supporting methodology and findings.
- Hire, onboard, manage, and conduct performance reviews for a team of data analysts.
- Develop and train analysts on best practices: tools, methodologies, statistical techniques, presentation of results, etc.
Qualifications
The most qualified candidate will have:
- At least five years of analytics experience, three within the insurance industry.
- One plus years managing a team.
- Proficiency with data analytics programs, tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal and organization skills.
- A passion for empowering people and decisions through data and visual management.
- Proven critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, math, finance, actuarial science, or related field or equivalent work experience.
An internal candidate should have six months in their current position, acceptable job performance, and must notify their current supervisor that they've applied for the position.
