The Category Development Manager is responsible for developing strong customer relationships by providing category solutions based on business trends, industry trends and category management expertise. This role will also work on developing insightful and actionable reporting, analysis and selling story presentations based on key category trends. Finally, the CDM will lead the development and process of customer category line reviews and be the expert in the customer’s category as well as the key strategic leader to assist with the development of their strategies.
- Ensure RPA agreement is successful for both EHI and the client
- Category leader with customer to help develop category strategy based on insights and market trends
- Develop partnership relationships (Category Captaincy)
- Develop and deliver presentations
- Facilitate planning process – internal and external
- Own customer category line review process
- Represent Category at broader cross-functional team meetings
- Interface with other departments (Sales, Trade Marketing, Shopper Activation, Marketing, Finance)
- Lead planogram development
- Conduct competitive analysis that identifies competitor strategies, strengths, and weaknesses
- May perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum 3 to 5 years customer facing Sales and/or Category Management experience
- BA/BS required; Marketing/Business Administration preferred
- Outstanding written & verbal communication skills
- Experienced in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Power Point, Access)
- Experience in developing & delivering compelling selling stories / presentations
- Ability to build relationships
