PURPOSE
Our team is looking for a Manager specializing in Business Transformation, the ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding organizations through strategic changes, process improvements, and operational optimizations to enhance a client organization’s overall performance and achieve their business objectives. The candidate’s expertise will be crucial in analyzing existing business processes, IT applications, organizational roles and responsibilities, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing innovative solutions to drive sustainable growth and efficiency. As a Business Transformation Manager, you will play an active role in supporting the selling and delivering Business Transformations projects to our clients’, working side by side with other company leaders, and taking the responsibility for leading projects and teams in delivering for our clients. This position is located in Chicago.
RESPONSIBILITIESProject Delivery and Management
- Develop and execute Business Transformation programs and projects and evolve client organizations to a future state of improved operating performance tailored to each client’s needs.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business challenges, objectives, and goals.
- Work closely with clients to define clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for transformation initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing expert advice, insights, and strategic recommendations.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and revenue enhancement.
- Own change management as clients adopt the new future state.
- Lead a project team to deliver client value.
- Facilitate client engagement sessions, workshops, and disruptive discovery sessions to deliver future state strategies and outcomes.
- Manage budget and plan projects.
- Demonstrates cross functional leadership by directing diverse teams across our clients.
- Be a subject matter expert across industries for Business Transformation projects.
Company and Internal Growth Contribution
- Support business development efforts including preparing client proposals, RFP responses, and statements of work.
- Collaborate with other leaders and team members to develop marketing materials including creating social media posts, blogs, whitepapers, webinars, and case studies.
- Regularly participate and contribute to internal team meetings.
- Support training and development opportunities for consulting practice.
- Lead and contribute to internal work groups and project efforts.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Data Gathering & Business Analysis
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data from various sources such as surveys, interviews, market research, and internal documents.
- Root Cause Analysis - Capability to identify the underlying causes of problems or inefficiencies within a business process by using techniques like Fishbone diagrams or the 5 Whys.
- SWOT Analysis - Understanding and application of SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) to evaluate a company's internal strengths and weaknesses and external opportunities and threats.
- Data Analysis Tools - Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or data visualization tools like Tableau for deriving insights from data sets.
- Process Mapping & Optimization:
- Proficiency in mapping out business processes using tools like flowcharts or process diagrams to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Able to analyze existing processes and workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Able to design and implement streamlined processes, leveraging best practices and industry standards.
- Able to develop and document new processes and procedures, ensuring they are sustainable and scalable.
- Systems Analysis:
- Proficiency in analyzing existing IT systems, understanding their functionalities, and identifying areas for improvement or optimization.
- Ability to gather, document, and validate detailed technical requirements from stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of project objectives
- Understanding of data modeling concepts and tools to design database structures, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval of data.
- Ability to analyze integration points between different IT systems and ensure seamless data flow and communication between applications.
- Requirements Elicitation: Skill in interviewing stakeholders to elicit and document clear, concise, and actionable business requirements for projects or process improvements.
- Project Management: Basic understanding of project management principles to organize and oversee tasks related to problem-solving initiatives, ensuring timely completion.
- Critical Thinking: Strong critical thinking skills to assess situations, identify problems, and evaluate multiple solutions objectively.
- Creative Problem Solving: Ability to think creatively and generate innovative solutions to business challenges, considering both conventional and unconventional approaches.
- Decision Making: Capability to make informed and timely decisions based on available data, analysis, and considering the potential impact on the organization.
- Risk Management: Understanding of risk assessment techniques and the ability to identify, analyze, and mitigate potential risks associated with proposed solutions.
- Prioritization: Skill in prioritizing tasks, problems, and solutions based on their impact on the organization's goals and objectives.
- Communication of Solutions: Proficient in clearly communicating proposed solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through reports, presentations, or visual aids.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, understanding their perspectives, and aligning proposed solutions with their needs and expectations.
- Continuous Improvement: Willingness to assess the effectiveness of implemented solutions and make adjustments based on feedback and evolving business requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in a related business or technical field (e.g., engineering, computer science, mathematics).
- 6- 12 years of relevant work experience in strategy consulting, management consulting, or IT/technology environment including expanding opportunities within a client account, selling projects, and leading teams and project delivery
- Travel is required
- Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters’ Degree from an accredited university or college in a related field of study
- 8+ or more years of relevant work experience in strategy consulting, management consulting, or IT/technology environment including identifying new clients, selling projects, and leading teams and project delivery.
- Project management certification, e.g., PMP.
