Manager, Business Continuity & Emergency Prepardness

Job Description
SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director, Safety and Security, the dedicated Manager of Business Continuity and Emergency Preparedness will manage Business Continuity and Emergency preparedness (HEOP) activities for the facility which include the development, documentation, maintenance, and implementation of plans and procedures, recovery strategies and solutions as well as trainings and exercises. Further, this individual will act as the point person after a disruption to lead the recovery efforts of the organization.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning

• Implement and manage all Business Continuity and HEOP program activities, including:
  
  • Chair the HEOP committee
  • Be the point person on incident command center operations and planning
  • Conduct a hazard vulnerability analysis (HVA) business impact analysis and business process analysis for each facility department
  • Identify mission-essential services or departments
  • Develop and maintain the facility-wide Business Continuity plan (BCP)
  • Consult with senior business managers and team leaders on the development, implementation and maintenance of department-specific BCPs
• Manage regular Business Continuity Planning Team meetings, and maintain meeting minutes.
• Identify and implement the BCP update schedule.
• Maintain all hospital accreditation licensing emergency management standards and requirements as it pertains to Business Continuity.

Training and Exercises

• Develop and implement annual training and exercise schedule.
• Conduct trainings and exercises to evaluate the plans (can be in coordination with the Emergency Management Coordinator).
• Maintain all training and exercise records.
• If activated, participate in the Hospital Incident Command Center.
• Be the point person on all BCP and HEOP activations
• Manage the after action report develop and review

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent relevant experience.
Required Experience

• Knowledge of hospital operations and interactions.
• Experience with the coordination of preparedness, response and recovery processes associated with healthcare emergency management and Business Continuity.
• 5-7 years of professional experience in Business Continuity, emergency management/disaster preparedness, or related field
• Experience conducting BIAs, BPAs, interviews, and writing BC plans

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) structure
• Hospital Disaster Management Training (HDMT)
• Experience with CT Region 3 Mutual Aid Plan /Hospital Preparedness Program/Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response (EMS/HPP/ASPR) audits and HSEEP exercise planning structure.
• Joint Commission EM chapter knowledge

Licenses and Certifications
Required Certifications

• Incident Command Center (ICS) 100, 200 and 700 courses

Preferred Certifications (one or more of the following)

• Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
• Certified Healthcare Provider Continuity Professional (CHPCP)
• Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) Certification
• Certified Emergency Management (CEM) Certification
• Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP)
• Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP)
• ICS 800 (within 3 months of hire)
