Job Description
HOPE is seeking a Manager of Advanced Analytics to join our growing team of DATA ANALYTICS experts and manage the processes and people for accurate data collection, processing, modeling, and analysis. The analytics manager will provide oversight to the senior, executive, and departmental key stakeholders regarding data-centric activities, tools, and technologies to help solve HOPE use cases with data-driven decisions. The position is located in the Jackson, MS corporate office or available via telecommute within our 5 state footprint which includes the states of MS, LA, AR, AL and TN. Occasional travel to the corporate office in Jackson, MS for in-person team meetings is required for this position.
Primary and Essential Functions
• Become a subject matter expert regarding HOPE data systems and business processes, workflows, data collection, and system connection points
• Manage a growing team of data scientists, acting as a coach and trusted partner offering expertise on best practices for data management, data quality, and DATA ANALYTICS
• Provide oversight regarding statistical and analytical methods and/or artificial intelligence tools to discover trends and techniques, automate specific processes within the organization, and recommend smart solutions to business challenges
• Oversee and design the delivery of processes for data intake, validation, mining and engineering as well as modeling, visualization and communication deliverables
• Recruit, train, develop and supervise analyst-level employees
• Provide guidance and adherence to HOPE compliance and data policy procedures
• Lead efforts to engineer/build data pipelines to feed data warehouses
• Provide insight to management standards and policies for quality data collection and governance
• Ensure data loads occur without incident or impact to reporting and downstream systems
• Partner with the HOPE Information Technology department to ensure proactive monitoring and timely upgrades are performed
• Provide insight to the data roadmap for the Data Analytics department with consideration to cross-departmental projects, the company's work plan, and any other overlapping technology initiatives
Secondary Functions
• Attend project and technology roadmap meetings to stay well-informed of departmental strategies
• Interact with teams to obtain data requirements for new and existing applications
• Assist in data migration and conversion activities for new software/system implementations
• Partner with HOPE Learning and Development Leadership Team to deploy end-user training regarding reporting and other informative data practices
• Provide support and guidance to junior level team members as needed and serve as a backup to analysts
• Perform administrative and managerial duties such as timekeeping and monitoring, capacity planning, and performance management
• Perform other duties as assigned
Regulatory Compliance Requirements
• Must comply with provisions of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
• Must comply with all provisions of the Privacy of Consumer Financial Information regulations
• Must comply with all provisions of the Right to Financial Privacy Act
Specified Authority Level
• Access to CFO paper and computer files
• The Data Management Specialist will be granted systems administrator permissions to appropriate software systems by the Information Security Officer.
Competencies/Skills
• Proven work experience with managing teams or work experience as a data scientist
• Working knowledge of data mining principles, predictive analytics, data collection and mapping
• Experience or working knowledge of machine learning methods and artificial intelligence tools
• Working knowledge or experience with statistical programming languages, analytic models, and testing/experimental concepts
• Strong demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; able to build relationships and garner trust with stakeholders in a short period of time to drive adoption of advanced analytics capabilities
• Be well organized, structured, and process-focused
• Be adept in using visual collaboration and diagramming platforms e.g. as Miro, Visio, Sketch, etc.
• Possess strong business acumen with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group
• Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and stakeholders simultaneously
Desired Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering Applied mathematics, or related discipline; graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred
• 5+ years of experience in advanced analytics, with experience leading and developing teams

Work Environment
