Description
This is a full-time position working (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm.
- Manages actuarial reporting, filing, and analysis functions including rate filing assembly, benefit cost analytics, and other duties as assigned.
- Research and monitors trends and profitability of Small Group and Individual lines of business (ACA, pre-ACA, and Medicare Supplement) and produces forecasts.
- Maintains and enhances actuarial models.
- Hire and train staff (1-2 direct reports), which includes interviewing and selection of personnel, conducting performance reviews, counseling, and other administrative functions.
Required Work Experience: 7 Years Actuarial experience or 5 Years Actuarial experience with Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial society (FCAS) designation.
Required Education: Bachelor's in a job related field
Required Skills and Abilities: Strong communication, decision making, and organizational skills. Good judgment. Knowledge of statistical principles and practices. Ability to use complex mathematical calculations. Strong analytical, problem solving, and model development skills. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
Required Software and Other Tools: Microsoft Office. Thorough knowledge of mainframe systems and data extraction. Computer systems support knowledge. Basic computer programming skills.
Required Licenses and Certificates: Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Associate of the Casualty Actuarial society (ACAS) designation, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Skills and Abilities: Ability to persuade, negotiate or influence. Presentation skills.
Work Environment: Typical office environment. Travel required.
