Position Summary:
- Collect key information from the patient, family, provider, and nurses that are specific to the exam being performed in order to assist the provider in the proper diagnosis.
- Educate patient, family or provider as to the extent and detail of each procedure, which may include informed consent as well as pre-and post-procedure instructions.
- Ensure the proper exam is being administered to the patient. Consult provider as needed.
- Verification and quality check of performed images on picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
- Maintain proper inventory levels of all supplies as required.
- Perform daily equipment inspections.
- Performs the most advanced tasks with little to no supervision.
- May assist provider during diagnostic procedures. May participate in performance improvement initiatives. May participate in interview, training, onboarding process.
- Oversee quality functions throughout all mammography sites, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- May be responsible for all Food & Drug Administration (FDA)
- Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and American College of Radiology (ACR) certification requirements for each site.
- Practice guidelines specific to ALARA policy (As Low As Reasonably Achievable).
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 0 years relevant experience
- Licenses/Certifications:
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider certification.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Mammography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
