Mammography Technologist
As Needed position with out-patient Diagnostic Imaging Services practice
Performs radiographic mammography procedures. Serves as a resource to other staff member. Obtains and documents clinical information from all patients. Operates radiographic mammography equipment, understands and is competent with Digital mammography and tomosynthesis equipment, prepares exam rooms. Cleans mammography rooms, obtains and organizes supplies. Prepares patient for exams; explains procedures and assists other staff members As Needed. Observes patients and equipment during procedure and reports unusual occurrences immediately, records pertinent patient information in QA logs, computers, requests or reports. Education – Completion of Associates degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
Experience – Eighteen months radiological technologist experience.
Licensure/Certification – Registration as an American Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Licensure by State of Maryland as Radiologic Technologist. Must be registered in mammography by the ARRT. Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Knowledge of mammographic devices and their operation. Understanding of procedures in order to obtain diagnostic images. Should know how to communicate with patients. Ability to manage complex work environment. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
