Position Summary
The Senior Mammographer performs all diagnostic mammography examinations that create the images needed for diagnosis. The Senior Mammographer also assists the physician with stereotactic breast biopsies and needle localization procedures. The Senior Mammographer integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1.Performs diagnostic and interventional mammography including positioning, machine set-up, radiation exposure technique, image acquisition and post-processing.
2.Follow all National Patient Safety Goals.
3.Provide recordkeeping of patient history and symptoms.
4.Review orders, explain procedure, answer questions and provide a high level of patient satisfaction.
5.Maintains cleanliness of department and assures adequate supply inventory.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
High school degree/equivalent
Preferred:
Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Sciences
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
1-2 years experience as Mammographer.
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
ARRT Registry in Radiography and Mammography or registry-eligible
NJDEP Xray License
Location: Hunterdon Healthcare System · Medical Imaging - Womens Imaging Center
Schedule: Full-time, Days/Evenings, M-F 8:30am-5pm
