Salary: $60,320 – $62,400 (based on experience)
Position type: Contract-to-hire (90 days).
Shift – C-Crew position (Working hours- Fri. & Sat 6am – 6pm, Sun. & Mon. 6pm – 6am)
Maintenance/Automation Controls Technician – Job Description
Position Summary: The Automation Controls Technician will maintain machines for efficient operating conditions and with minimum downtime, repair machines, equipment and facilities as required and maintain and adhere to TS14001 requirements.
The Automation Controls Technician will:
- Perform initial checkout and startup of automated equipment.
- Troubleshoot a variety of electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Troubleshoot and perform equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Modify or update existing equipment as well as perform occasional equipment installation.
- Have the ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Provide required maintenance documentation reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Have Robot and PLC troubleshooting skills; programming skills are preferred. (Allen Bradley).
- Troubleshoot equipment using PLC.
- Diagnose problems and determine the extent of repairs necessary.
- Maintain backups of all programs for PLC and robots.
- Maintain electrical prints and ladder logic.
- Manage downtime situations to completion.
Qualified candidates will possess:
- Associates degree in Manufacturing (preferred).
- Automation, monitoring, and repair background preferred.
- Functional and applicable knowledge of electrical and electronic principals; Thorough knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems and standards, failsafe design standards, and how various transducers operate, as well as various electro-mechanical devices; Strong knowledge of Mechanical transfer lines in both pneumatic and hydraulic application.
- Computer literacy, familiar with windows operating system and exceptional troubleshooting skills.
