Work with a purpose at the Otero County Prison located in Chaparral, New Mexico! Operated by Management & Training Corporation (MTC), we provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping offenders gain valuable skills and treatment necessary for success upon release.
Job responsibilities: You'll performs a variety of general maintenance and repairs on equipment and buildings and assists with technical trades.
Essential functions:
Perform maintenance and repair of structures, electrical systems, heating, plumbing, ventilation, and air conditioning and drainage systems. Recommend contracted assistance with on-center repair is not possible.
Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets and fuses as directed, which may include standing or climbing on a ladder to perform sch functions.
Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
Perform on-call support in emergency situations when equipment malfunctions.
Education and experience requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must also possess technical training and general knowledge of repair and/or maintenance.
Three (3) years of related experience is also required.
A valid driver license in Texas or New Mexico with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
